  • Happy father's day (if Paul or Andy have kids!! :D)

I don't have any children and I've never been married either. I did cohabit with two women (at different times) and spent a chunk of my adult life helping (or hindering) the bringing up of the children they already had but I've never had any of my own. I had a fair bit of input into my nephew's upbringing when he was still with his mother (my sister) as his father was almost entirely absent. It's not the same with a nephew I suppose, but maybe in some ways it is better. At least he knew I was there because I wanted to be there rather than because I had to be. Also, the cohabiting relationships were quite traumatic (particularly one of them) and it was better to break contact in order to preserve sanity. No judgement be passed on me for this because I would have to spill a lot of deeply personal stuff to explain why things went the way they did and I'm not prepared to do that on an open forum. Suffice to say that even many years later, in the cold light of day, I honestly believe I did the right thing by walking.

I can't even get my own father a father's day card (he was 80 a couple of weeks back). He doesn't celebrate stuff like that due to his membership of a mind controlling cult. I felt a bit cheated at not being able to send him a birthday card (he lives 200 miles away and we rarely meet and never phone) but I've kind of grown used to that down the years. At least not having to buy family Christmas and birthday presents is a good moneysaver anyway.

    Morning all

    £50 PaD today to MBNA.

I have sent off my claims for PPI and credit card charges this week and got an acknowledgement from them to say it is in the system.

Hopefully I will get a bit back from that which i can put towards the debt but it could take months and of course it might not happen...but we shall see.

It seem to be a lovely day outside, i hope you all enjoy it xx

Hi all, just another 50p to Barclaycard today before getting ready to go to retail hell - otherwise known as work. Was so busy yesterday cause of Father's day - I was in four different departments in a 7 hour shift - nightmare!

Congrats to Sarah for clearing your card.
Hope everyone has a nice day.
