maony money, Thanks for your reply, I did say to them 'you must have other customers in the same situation, so what do they do?' she replied by saying 'we must receive payments on time every 28 days, on the date shown on your statement' I reminded her that CCCS only pay at a certain time, and I can't change that! she replied again with 'you must pay on time and contact CCCS about it' oh well, another unhelpful phone call! I'll give CCCS a call tomorrow. Thanks again

Afternoon peeps, could someone remind me what to do if a creditor wants payments by the satement date, which in this case is 18th, I'm aware that CCCS only send payments at the end of the month and at the same time every month, so what do i do in this situation? this is the responce i have had from at least 2 creditors, that they are prepared ot accept but payments must be received by the date on statements! thanks you and hope you'r able to enjoy the sunshine, roll on 5pm : )

You could always ask your creditor to change your statement date to reflect when they will get the payment. I did this with Creation Financial as it was due by the 8th of each month but for some reason never hit my creation account until at least the 17th or 18th. Eventually after some persuasion of what I was trying to do worked and they changed it. If they tell you it isnt, it is and it will stop late payment charges. Just tell them you will reclaim the charges with 8% interest on top :D

  • Evening All,

Feeling kinda of !! I don't know tonight. I've paid back £4370 to date but feeling like I have a mega mountain to climb until I maybe getting anywhere closer to a DFD. DFD 6 years at least, but five months in and I'm feeling like it's on the distant horizon. Not very postive I know to all the newbies out there. But believe you me it's one of the best things I have ever done, honest. :D

When you start off with £102,500 of debt at LBM (includes Car HP & O/D (long story) of debt, but not our mortgage that's £160k by itself). £4,370 seems a v. small drop in the ocean. I will get there one day.

On a positive note I'm with CCCS and had certain creditors asked for payment by a certain date. CCCS & I stuck by our guns and they all eventually gave in and accepted payments on the 25th.

    Summary so far:

RBS, Style, Tesco, MBNA, Next, Halifax, HBOS Pref all accepted and stopped interest on debts of (3989.34, 834.96, 1728.98, 3745.97+5114.02+11055.67, 1070.79, 18026.49, 2073.51+9320.66 resp TOTAL = £56960.39)

GE Money ARRRGGGGH still charging interest etc.(Total Debt @ LBM =£23788.72 now due more but not sure of the exact amount) but due for review on the 25th Aug where they're threaten to pass us on to a DCA, please please do so.

Sometimes think Scottish Trust Deed (no IVS'a in Scotland) would have been the better option but don't know enough about them to think about that at the moment.

Anyway to all the newbies out there thinking about a DMP if you can't afford to cover all your non-priority debt each month then it's honestly the best thing you can do. I made all my min payments in Jan by robbing Peter to pay Paul. Feb statements had LDM and paid token payments, CCCS payment went 1st March. All I had was a couple of phone calls since nothing major and a couple of letters again nothing major compared with arrears letters in Feb demanding 100's of pounds that I didn't have (min payments on loans & CC's was £1800pm- no wonder I couldn't carry on). So the proof was in the pudding DMP was the best decision I have ever made, just wish it was a decision I didn't have to make. Hey Ho.

Away to bed now, hopefully tommorrow I'll wake up bright a breezy and think what a moaning git I was.

    Take Care All

    Becks;)

    Hi

Does anybody have any ideas whilst my payments to my creditors via Payplan only shows as some of them being paid and not all of them.

Do they tend to make payments in a couple of batches as 3 payments havent been made yet but the others have.

I would call my contact at Payplan but they are probably sick of hearing from me this week.

    Thanks for your help

    hi all

becks:) - hun feel exactly the same as you today - feel there is a mountain to climb (70k debt and none paid off as of yet - DMP starts aug)

Am dealing with all the letters that come flooding in (funnily - calls seemed to have stopped?...) seem to be on the phone with cccs an awful lot at the mo.

Is it me or they seem to be very blase about everything. i know they must be hearing the same thing a 1000 times a day but i got off the phone with them this morning and didn't feel very confident.

creditor update - M&S - sent a letter to cccs saying they won't accept offer - & on the same day send me a letter saying they will accept the offer - with a review in 12 months.

cccs said this happens a lot with M&S and not too worry (ok i won't!!) so 5 out of 8 creditors on board so far.

have good days all - am off for lunch with old work friends & have bday money so won't be sitting there with tap water!!!!!

    sasxx
    Massive !! LBM June 09 - Debts [STRIKE]£70k [/STRIKE] now £63k (PPI Claim succesfull)

will never ever ever get credit again (couldn't if i wanted!!!! - LOL - have to laugh, keeps me sane.

    DFD 9 years away......................

My worst creditor is Hitachi Capital.. they are after me all guns blazing
and charge me £50 each time then send me a default sum letter.. £25 each time they write to me.. and £15 for a phone call (I think) ..

I'm going to write to them today.. and say how the &*^%! do you expect me to pay you back.. when you are adding sooooooooooo much in charges that you will NEVER get back what I owe you at this rate.

This is ridiculous. They're acting like a loan shark. Why don't they just take you to court and have done with it? Probably because they know the judge will see that you are trying to sort yourself out and may write off the debt ... what a pity we can't instigate a court case like that ourselves ... or can we?

I think I'd write to them, address them as if they were a loan shark, thank them for being so thoughtful and helpful (they hate sarcasm), and tell them you're forwarding copies to (a) your solicitor (for harassment), (b) the local and national press, and (c) your MP (particularly with the latest from the government this week on debt control). Then do it.

but once eveything settles down I plan on reclaiming the charges.

I plan on doing that too, using the excellent resources available all over this site. I'm thinking "charge away, sunshine - you'll have to give it all back to me in the end".

Hey, it's £4,370 in the right direction. Imagine how you'd feel if it was the other way? Give yourself a big pat on the back for every thousand pounds. :j
