    Hi all,

Sorry I've been AWOL for a while. Can't believe there's a whole new thread and I've read none of it! (I will at some point tho).

Hope you're all doing ok. I had a row with Natwest today but it seems that maybe they will now default me. I know that this is a good thing but he did a very good job of making me feel bad about it!

Thank F for Payplan is all I can say! I really really think they are great!! Everyone I have ever spoken to is so non judgmental! Whereas this guy at natwest basically seemed to be accusing me of taking the p, like i've never looked at my budget properly, like I have planty of money and just haven't figured out how much i've got, and also how my husband should get a new job and that it should be easy coz there's plenty out there if you're prepared to do it! For his information I lived the way he was trying to tell me to do it for about a year and that's why i ended up going to Payplan, coz it just didn't work. And how dare he judge my husband and his job and his lack of finding something better! he is trying, there's just very little out there for him! and even what there is is probably not a lot more, if at all, money!

Anyway rant over! I then phoned Janine at payplan and she put my mind at rest that it is still fine.

Anyway, Sorry i haven't been on, I seriously F'd up in June. we went on our cheap holiday in the first week and spent far too much and had to go crawling to my dad for a loan!! felt like cr4p and think i stayed away from here for a while because of it! silly i know but i guess i didn't want to face it!!

Anyway, i think this month should be a bit better (altho we've had a busy expensive weekend, the rest of the month should be ok) and things are hopefully back on track!

Missed you all and hope everyone is doing great!

I've made a Boo Boo regarding my first payment to CCCS, I agreed to make payments via standing order and I was informed that as long as my payment reaches CCCS by 10th everything will be fine, can anyone else confirm this ?
I took my hard earned cash to the post office and paid it directly into the co-op and then came home to transfer it to my Natwest bills account, I was then going to set up a standing order direct to the CCCS, well after sending the cash to my Natwest Account I discovered that it will take up to 3 working days as Co-Op have a Faster Payment limit of £100.
I've emailed the CCCS as I don't want anything to go wrong already
I've also jammed my paper shredder while shredding credit card cheques

Hi, sorry not posted much recently, combination of work, kids and sunshine! Although i promise i have been reading!!

2nd payment went to CCCS today (it feels great!) I've had a few letters saying yay or nay to the DMP, but and here's the wierd bit, I've had no horrible letters and not a single phonecall.....from what I've been reading other peoples phones are ringing off the hook! Now don't get me wrong I'm not complaining it just seems a bit wierd, i feel like it's the calm before the storm...and the longer it goes on with hardly any post and no calls I'm starting to get a bit jittery.

Other than that all fine in the Crafty house

I think as long as CCCS have the money by the 10th it's ok as they gave me the option of my direct debit being paid out to them on the 1st or the 10th.

    Debt-free and Proud!
Rest easy fellow new DMPer's if this is your first month or two. It will take a little time to settle down and of course it is natural to worry that your creditors will get their money when they want it. You have, essentially, given up this little bit of control of your debt as you are so used to posting to them what you can when you can and getting the punishing calls when you cant. What you are all doing with Payplan or CCCS is definitely the right step. A huge debt accompanied by a 100 watt lightbulb moment that things have to change hopefully only happens to us basic old humans once, but these companies deal with this all day everyday. Trust in them to do what they are good at and lets hope things settle for you all and you can sleep easy at night.

Happy Birthday to SS and yes treat you and yours to a little something. Just dont feel guilty about it, £50 will not make you debt free overnight. I am sure you have had to sacrifce enough and will do for a long time. Enjoy!

Hi all - hope you've been enjoying this beautiful sunshine!

Well although I changed my bank account to A&L I have decided to open a co-op account and rang today to see if I had been accepted and low and behold they asked if I would like to open a premier account instead as my credit rating is high enough!

I obviously said 'no thank you' and she asked why so I told her I didn't want anymore debt...she asked me what I meant.....I said that I didn't want an overdraft so am quiet happy with basic account...

My DMP starts 1 Aug lets see if they offer me anything then!!!;):p

I know what you mean - I've not had a single letter or phonecall!! My 4th payment to Kensington went the other day and everything seems to be going swimmingly!!! Even Citi are leaving me alone now!!!:rotfl:I paid off Lowell the other day - one was my student overdraft, started paying them £30 a month in December 2007, ended up at £52 per month, but despite their best efforts to get me to accept an F&F - no way, I know their tricks!!! :rotfl: - I insisted on carrying on and paying the lot and I rang and made the final payment last Thursday!!! :jplus the last payment on my New Look storecard went last Friday - :jso that's 2 debts down, 10 to go
