Hey MRSG2B :hello:
We seem to be in a similar situation - all bar HSBC seem to be happy, and accepting payments. My guess is that some creditors find it more cost effective to just keep an eye on your account to ensure you keep up with the DMP without actually officially accepting the plan so if you screw up or withhold payment they can then pounce on you!
I know what you mean about reduced payments. I had a boiler problem last month which meant I paid £150 less per month via CCCS. They wrote to all my creditors and warned them. Only Citibank said they weren't happy but looking at my account they seem to have accepted the reduced payment. Back to full CCCS repayment amount this month so hopefully that should smooth things a bit.
Regarding your reduced payments, I hope that that doesn't mean that you've had any bad news / lost job etc?? _pale_ Or is it just that your original budget was a bit too tight? Either way I guess the bottom line is (as has been said MANY times before) if you haven't got it, they can't have it!
I agree it's maddening that one department within the same company can be totally different in their approach... Although I do work in a large organisation myself and know exactly how it happens... everyone's just too busy to put their heads together and work out a joint approach... Haven't had any problems with my loan (other than phone calls and letters). I guess the interest is already included in it so they know they'll make a profit in the end... With overdrafts and c/cs they show you the interest as a separate amount so it becomes more obvious.
Hugely frustrating though it is, try not to look into the distant future of those debt free days... although they will come around eventually. Just concentrate on getting through these first 6 months and hopefully we can start a DMP Survivors Group at the end of it (hang on that's a good name for a thread...) :rotfl: I'm with you all the way, MRSG2B!!
DG
Thankfully nothing bad DG, thanks for asking, just I had been a bit unrealistic on the budget when I worked out my plan in the first place, and with petrol going up again and no doubt the winter months rapidly approaching now our mini heatwave is almost over, I wouldn't have had enough money for petrol or heating etc, let alone the wedding we're scrimping and saving for! (on a DMP uber tight budget of course!)
I'm looking forward to the DMP Survivors Group already (what a fab name DG!) ... then we can plan our assault for the downfall of HSBC in earnest!
I'll be here for at least the next 5 years, so we better budget in the smartprice vodka, lambrini and basics chocolate for our DMP forum parties now
Between the 3 of us will oversee the downfall of HSBC AND Hitachi Capital...MWAHAHAHA!
Mrs G x:j Only 5 years until I'm debt free! :j

Afternoon peeps, could someone remind me what to do if a creditor wants payments by the satement date, which in this case is 18th, I'm aware that CCCS only send payments at the end of the month and at the same time every month, so what do i do in this situation? this is the responce i have had from at least 2 creditors, that they are prepared ot accept but payments must be received by the date on statements! thanks you and hope you'r able to enjoy the sunshine, roll on 5pm : )DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0

Afternoon CM - this very same issue came up on DFW but I can't remember the name of the thread, might be worth trawling through the last couple of pages to see... I'm pretty sure there was a way round it though... If no one else replies/can remember, just give CCCS a ring on their support line as this has definitely come up before.
In fact, might have been the Ask CCCS Counsellor a Question thread... let me see if I can find it for you....:cool:LBM - March 2009, DMP Start - April 2009

Hi
I asked CCCS this question last week, as like you a creditor of mine accepted my DMP but wanted payment by 11th, CCCS said that all creditors already know that CCCS DMP payments don't arrive until 25th of each month before they accept your offer, so do nothing.
I wasn't 100% convinced but I did as I was told as CCCS are the experts.DMP mutual support thread member:3270 -
Hi all,I'm due to start my DMP in August :T I have two questions that maybe some of you could help me with.
I've been getting letters from my creditors (all CC's ) asking me to contact them to join their own dept scheme. They all vary, but all seem to ingnore the letter that I have sent them, coppied from the one I got from the CCCS,telling them that I am starting a DMP with the CCCS.Do I just ignore these ?
Secondly, what happens, if after starting my DMP one or all of my creditors refuse to stop the intrest charges and refuse my DMP payments , I've read over and over in these forums that a DMP can't guarantee that
Anyway if any of you could help, then thank you in advance....0 -

Hi
I am about to make my first payment to CCCS and in my experience the majority of my creditors have not replied to any of my letters advising of a DMP with CCCS, I have had a few acceptance letters and one refusal but the rest are totally silent.
Apparantley the creditors that don't accept your DMP will eventually get hacked off and sell the debt on to a DCA, in the meantime though your debt will grow, as the original lender will chuck charges on, thats what has happened to a couple of my accounts, but once eveything settles down I plan on reclaiming the charges.DMP mutual support thread member:3270 -

I think there is a template around for claiming credit card charges back, I am waiting for everything to settle down for a while.
In the past I have been lucky and had my charges refunded by simply asking them to refund them, I doubt I will be this lucky now though :rolleyes:DMP mutual support thread member:3270 -

I would give these creditors a call stating that CCCS aim to pay them around the 25th of each month. They are usually OK with that.I'm always in the brown stuff (marmite)....only the depth varies!!! :rotfl:0
