Wow, We take 2 weeks out for a well deserved holiday and a new thread has started !!!!

A Big thankyou to the persons that came to our garage sale and made it possible for us to afford the break ... It was only Spain, but the weather was 30 degrees and, as we cooked our oun food, we only really ate what we wanted and the only other luxerys was the beers.

So, Family of 3, 2 weeks in Benidorm, Self Catering, but with the use of a Pool, £600 for the 2 weeks, plus about £150 worth of food / drink. Added to the Cheap Duty Free we brough back (we only brought our personal allowances back but even manage to make a few pennies ;) ... )

    Hi

Hope everyone is doing OK with the DMPs.

Our first payment went on 1st June, so glad things have happened at last. Feel much more in control with money, which is a first for me.

My daughter (aged 11) answered an 0800 or 0845 number on Saturday. Oh my word, she was questioned as to where I was, how long would I be, what time should she call back, what was her name, was my husband there, what my work number was, my mobile number and 20 other questions!

I hope now they have had their first payment the phone will stop ringing.

Thats pretty disgusting of them to ask your daughter such questions.....did they say who they were ???
I'm always in the brown stuff (marmite)....only the depth varies!!! :rotfl:

    Hi All,
Just been directed here by "leese2504" about setting up my own DMP. I've done the CCCS remedy and budget and a DMP is the way forward. I think I'd like to run it myself as i dont really want the ties of a basic bank account with no debit card or cheque book. Also some debt is 0% interest at the moment.

I'm up for this challange, as long as it isnt to much of a disadvantage with dealing personally with creditors. What i mean by this is do the creditors deal with the CCCS better than an individual .

Anyway i'm new to all this, so any advice would be great

    Hi there

Just to let you know that we opened a Natwest Step account and I still got a debit card (as well as solo) and a cheque book (which is ideal for nursery fees etc). I personally don't use the debit card as I like the way solo works, and I didn't ever really write cheques that needed a guarantee card, but thought I'd let you know that a basic account, isn't actually always that basic.

I am with CCCS and have found them fantastic. We're now on our 5th month and have just upped our payments after a first review last month. I personally just find it easier to pay one amount to the CCCS and let them distribute, rather than me making 5 seperate payments and keeping track of them.

Anyway, good luck with whichever path you choose.

    E
  • Hi Moany Money

Yes, I agree, pretty low. No, they didn't say who they were. Could be any of 16 creditors!

    Welcome westiedog.

Try going to the following website and typing in the number that called.

This type of harrassment should not be tolerated. Report them when you find out who it is.

  • Thanks cocker. Looked it up and it is Citicards. Bless em!

  • Hi Everyone

How are we all doing today ?

I had a telephone call today from a number I didn't recognize, upon entering the number into google you can imagine the look on my face when the name RMA entered my browser .

I am quite suprised at how quickly one of my creditors has passed or sold my debt on, my DMP starts on July 1st and I only informed my creditors of this within the past few weeks.

Do we have an idea of which creditors use RMA or are there to many to list ;) I have a feeling that it could be American Express

    Scouse,

RMA are part of a rather large company, running under a few different names.

I can confirm though that RMA have contacted me regarding an MBNA/Abbey debt, before passing back to MBNA,

And a company called RMA Resolve maintain my (wait for it) Amex account, so you were correct!

  • Thanks for that Ian, so are RMA and RMA Resolve the same company, If you don't mind me asking, did they accept your offer from CCCS.
