Anyone know if you can sell the Freehold on your own property to raise money, if you can how much would you get for it and how would you go about selling it?

Hi ive been reading for a while now and thought now would be a good time to say hi and start asking my own questions.

we have started the ball rolling with payplan although im not sure how much help they are going to be as are income is always changing and he has already become annoyed. I know i can do my own dmp if i need to so im kind of ready for that fight.
    I have changed my bank
I have sent out my letters with token payments saying that im taking advice ect and im waiting for a reply from them which should be fun.
i have sold my big gas guzzeling car and replaced it with a more money saving car and it has left me with abit of cash to spare although now im not sure what to do with it.

do i offer it as a final payment? although it is not quite the full amount.
or spread it over my debts
    or give it to payplan
    or save it

I like so many others cannot believe the mess we have got ourselves into but this site, especially this thread has really helped me think positive i just wish i had found it before i got a secured loan lol :o

Thanks Jilly and Becks - my paper statement came through the post today and it still shows £0 for this creditor, hopefully it's fine and the payment has been made but I'll see what CCCS say on Monday.

    Hi,

I meant to respond to you the other day but the weather has gone to my head! It is glorious here:T I got my paper statement from CCCS and there is one creditor showing £0 balance on mine too. This is for BOS, Marbles CC. I have emailed them so will await the outcome of this. If it is a problem with them not accepting the payments I still have payment slips on my statements and could just do it this way to show I am making the pro rata payment but it would be a faff.

Hopefully, it will sort itself out.

    Hello,

May I have a DMP support thread number please ?

The paperwork has all gone to CCCS, the letters have gone to my creditors, I've madetoken payments to all of them. Had a nice-ish phone call from my loan people.
Just waiting for the phone to start ringing
Bring it on I'm ready - at least I know that I'm trying to pay it back - I spent it after all - although I have less than nothing to show for it.

Onwards and upwards, looking forward to sharing this journey with all you great people

    Hi Twinado,

Payplan will probably advise a low % to offer as full and final, but I have read that some people can offer as low as 17% of balances to all creditors and get away with it. I remember reading how one person owed £32K and offered 6K and it was accepted. In this current climate I am sure any offer is as good as another and if they reject at a low one then you can only keep trying a little higher and higher. If there is any chance you cannot ever pay the debt I am sure they will be delighted to get a percentage of it. Or the alternative would be to keep a small savings and then give a good full and final in the future??

Not sure that helped much, sorry. I have just offered 40% to all of mine and 10 days later have not heard a peep!!

Actually that makes me think of a question... if only 2 or 3 of my 5 creditors accept the full and final offers made, do i pay it and close those accounts or do I have to have agreement from all 5 to make it viable?

My latest statement shows £0 against Marbles - I've spoken to CCCS and they seem to be having some problems with them - I think Marbles have said the Account Number is wrong, having checked my statement the number is correct.

    Morning all fellow lovely dmp'rs

I've only been away a week & have missed all this chat sooo much...

Went away for a week wiv 'famileeee' to the lake district - very different from when i have been away before - no spending on the ole cc's - only 2 meals out (& one of those was paid for)

got home & the post that was waiting for me - - i felt so popular!!! :rotfl:

all lovely default notices but 2 lovely acceptances for our dmp from Cap 1 & Lloyds (both CC's)

i am finding Egg are the worst & if hubby gets one more call from B/card he is going to rip the phone out of the wall!!

but looking at my bank a/c now is a pleasure - cr - cr - cr and sticking to a budget is going ok (at the mo)

I posted a week or so ago to let you all know that N/rock are paying us £3500 on our PPI claim - well they ain't paid it yet!! i think they are going to delay as we have just cancelled our loan d/d so am now in arrears with this months payment - so methinks they will 'hold' back the ppi claim money

well - this week is set to be glorious & i'm still on a weeks holiday!!! :j

    have good days

    sas
