If you have access to online internet banking with HSBC make sure you delete your number from their website, it worked for me, they only started calling again when it transferred to their inhouse debt collection company. I just sent the standard harrassment letter and they stopped calling as well.

    Good luck!

Hi, I'm a newbie having floated around this site for ages! I have had my interview with CCCS and am embarking on a DMP. However, I was going to self administrate. Are creditors more likely to accept reduced payments if CCCS arranged the DMP for me or does it not make any difference?

Also, would it be best to phone all my creditors first to see if I can negotiate with them (which is scary but am prepared to do!) or should I just send off my letters. I am having to reduce my payments by about a third.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi and welcome, I am doing my own DMP and so far so good, not one of them have mentioned me going through a debt charity. I initiated things by doing my debt tool on CCCS then sending a copy of their budget and a template letter, seems all of mine are tending to agree to it. If you're going to ring in advance and try to negotiate make sure you have a copy of your budget in front of you, because i am positive your creditors will go through it with you. IMO I would send letters and deal with them that way. Good luck xx

I have had it with HSBC!!!! How many more calls from the loan department am I going to get in 1 day when the very first one I had this morning said he'd remove my number from the list for the next 2 weeks?!!! Patronizing *@$@wits!!

Do you have a current account with them aswell? They have taken a loan payment making me go overdrawn, then increasing my overdraft to cover it, even though I have written and asked for reduced payments. But on the plus they have downgraded my account but let me keep a visa debit card ( although i wont be using that account lol ) But I havent had a single phone call off them for the past week or so, things might be looking good on the DMP front.

I managed to stop them from calling because I sent a complaint via email on the homepage of their website xx

I've just checked my DMP online with CCCS and realised that one of my payments to a creditor shows £0 paid out on 25th June instead of the correct amount of £64  My statement is also short of this amount in the total paid out to creditors this month although I paid the full amount due to CCCS on the 1st of June.

I'm going to ring CCCS on Monday to see what has happened to my payment to this creditor but I was wondering if a payment has gone missing for anyone else here ?

This is only my second monthly payment and I'm now worried that if the creditor doesn't get paid as promised it will muck up the DMP as they've frozen interest and accepted the lower payment amount so far.
