I am prety sure our pla is a low start at over 20 odd years at the mo, we are working to save money here and there to decrease the years, as we need an extra £200 a month to get it within 10 years. Our HP finishes in early 2011 so that will be £115 towards the extra £200 needed but we were told by CCCS not to worry about that for now and just concentrate on what we are at now.

I wouldnt worry about the date its set to finish for now, there is still light at the end of tunnel even if it is a long walk there.

    Evening all,
I had my telephone interview with payplan this week and they have sent me the letter which I need to sign to get the ball rolling.
Now, my question is that I am off on holiday next week - should I sign the letter and post it now do you think or should I hold off til after my holiday? Its just that I'm not going to have time to set up a new bank account before I go away.. what would you do?
    Thanks x

  • Hi all!! I'm a newcomer and hope to enter into this great support network - believe me - I need it!!
I've just started my DMP today - still getting loads of calls from all of the companies I owe money to - my partner doesn't know anything about all of this so things are a little tricky at the moment to say the least (!) but am commited to paying back this horrible debt mountain surely and steadily. It's a lonely road isn't it?? I've registered with CCCS and they have been the first positive helpful phonecall I've had in a long while - so currently feeling quite positive (until I check my mobile and home phone - which I've unplugged by the way and see how many missed calls I have!!) Oh well - will keep on keeping on and hope to chat to like minded people out there!

    Hi reachforthestars.

Just wanted to say just that, Hi, and welcome to our humble thread. Any queries, just post and someone is normally around to help out!

The one piece of advice I have (despite what others may say), is to answer that phone, but only if you feel strong enough to stand your ground. They will ask for money, and you WON'T pay them any extra. Just refer them to CCCS and leave it at that. It does get them off your back eventually!

    Chow,

    Hi glitterlea

I'm new to this but I personally would leave it untill I came back from holiday as I could then come back refreshed and ready for any telephone calls etc, I'm sure others may completely dissagree with me, but as you are unable to switch back accounts until you return I think the safest thing is to wait until you return. Unless of course you are really behind on your payments then I would possibly send those creditors with whome you are behind the letter advising you are currently in the process of setting up DMP with payplan.

I've just applied for a co-op account online and It said they would take up to 3 days to e-mail me with the reply. Not sure if you have enough time to ring them - it may be quicker!

Hope this may have helped a little - have a wonderful holiday xx

Hope you have a lovely holiday

Hi all - can anyone help. Instead of sending token payments as postal orders do you think I would be ok sending cheques from my mum? Just thought it would save the costs and not have my signature on it! Mum doesn't mind just wondered if anyone could advise?

    xx

Thanks so much for your relpy. I think I have decided to wait until I'm back from hols - as you say, I'll be refreshed and raring to go ;)
Also, I know Payplan will be trying to call me once I send the signed letter back and I don't want them to get the hump with me if they can't get through to me!

    Thanks x

Don't think anyone's mentioned sending cheques in another person's name since I've been following the DFW forum. However, I'm pretty sure that creditors will take any money offered to them!! Remember to put your name and account number clearly on the back though ;)

Got 1st interview with CCCS on Monday, and just wanted to ask, most of the creditors we know amount owed & got to pay back, but a couple are a bit up in the air. (All from winding down a non Ltd company, father (died last year) & son) - my hubbie the son may or may not be liable for a few of the debts, we're still arguing that one.

Anyway can you start a DMP with CCCS and if needs be add additional creditors a little bit later ?

    Thanks
