Morning all, feeling posetive today, lets see if that feeling stays when the post man has been ????
Payday loans are a right pain in the bum. We have 3 of them on our DMP and 1 is just ignoring me everytime I tell them its now with CCCS. Think they have the message now though lol.
Which company is it? Can you stop a DD?0 -
vanilla (and previously mrs ryan) I got the loan online wiht payday loans. the bank statement shows mem (month end money) consumer finance! I digned the agreement online and haven't got any paperwork for this. my partner has just called the bank to check if they have requested it yet and there was something for Clode? but we don't know if this is it or not as the bank can't say how much it is for as it's not yet actioned!urrrghhhhDMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0

Hello fellow DMP-ers.
What a great family you all seem to be. :j
I've been viewing and reading many of threads on this forum for a couple of months now and feel part of the family (even though this is my first post!)
I'm in the process of sending the documents back to CCCS, but have already contacted my creditors who have all cashed in the goodwill cheques.
Only had contact with two of them so far, but awaiting more. Still feeling a bit jittery about the whole thing, but feel much better after my LBM and speaking to my OH about it all.
This is just to say Hello to you all (HELLO ALL!!!!!!:D) and to warn you that I may be posting frantically during the course of my DMP (approx 5 years.)
It's great to know that there are really friendly and helpful people amongst you all.
Please can I have a number??? (Sorry to be ever so cheeky with my first post!!)
Speak soon :rotfl:

paolo - Welcome to you too : )I'll be around for the next 6 years (hopefully less as I increase my payments) so I'm sure we'll become friends along the way.Good to here your having a posetive responce from your creditors, it's nerve raking at first but once the acceptances start coming through you do get such a strong feeling of releif. Don't get me wrong there are those letters you get that really scare you but to know there are people on here so friendly and willing to help makes it all easier.welcome again xDMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0

thanks cleomolly
. Before I discovered this forum I was just burying my head in the sand (classic symptoms from what I can gather) and I thought I'd have to eventually deal with it all by myself. I feel so much better for opening up, especially to my OH.
The budget from CCCS seems very manageable and will help us to prevent frivulous spending, which we were guilty of in the past. Once we pay off every unsecured penny we owe I am determined not to use credit again (expect of course the mortgage!).
I had my first phonecall a few hours ago, which I was dreading. But I answered it and feel much better now, thanks to all the advice I've read on here.LBM: April 2009

Hi all
I'm just really posting to get a little reassurance.
My OH is starting his DMP with CCCS in July. We have sent his token payments and letters of notification etc.
So far the same old same old letters have been coming except for one from a catalogue who said they spoke to CCCS and they are accepting it-yey!
Now for the scary bit. One of the creditors is Welcome. My OH missed his first loan payment with them on the 17th of this month.
They sent a man to our door yesterday. I was home alone and had to deal with him and its really scared and upset me.
He didn't mention CCCS so neither did I as it's not in my name or anything its all my OH so I didn't know what to say for saying wrong!
He said my OH MUST call him or he will be back at my house and that they charge £25 for each home visit.
I am hoping that they maybe just don't know about the DMP yet as I understand it can take time for the info to filter through. CCCS said this was possible.
Does anyone have any experience with Welcome Finance that could reassure me? I am due my first baby any day now and starting to feel like I am going to have a heart attack with the stress I am going through at the minute trying to help my OH get his money sorted before our wee girl arrives.
Please reassure me someone!!0 -
They can NOT hassle you for payment if the debt is not in your name The OFT guidelines state that. (I'm trying to send the link but my cheapo laptop keeps on freezing). They can't visit your other half at work either.
Hopefully someone will be able to post up this link.I'm always in the brown stuff (marmite)....only the depth varies!!! :rotfl:0 -
miss bexy, I'm no expert on the matter, but someone will be along shorty to answer your questions I'm sure of that. now listen carefully - no matter what is going on with your OH's debts, the DMP ect. this is most speacial time in your life, your going to become a mummy and that little one is going to depend on you for everything (as I'm sure you are fully aware) so you need to keep yourself well, mind and body. I only say this as I know how much thought people put into their debts and the sleepless nights ect can take a real toll on your health. so whatever happens remeber you're doing all you can to sort out the debts your OH has, and you've made steps to start the ball rolling so there's nothing more you can do. enjoy this special time and hope you manage to relax and enjoy your last few days of pregnancy. xDMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0

Not sure where to post so have posted in several places!
I was told by a debt management company that in order to get DMP I will have to default on all my payments first. Is this true?
Also can anyone tell me what the pros and cons of doing a DMP yourself rather than going through a company?
Can anyone point me in the right direction for some info on here regarding DMP?
Thank-you!0
