Still not heard from Barclaycard since my email on 12th and nothing more from Barclays regarding their accounts.
Sx[/QUOTE]
I emailed Barclaycard last week and not had a reply, plus also not heard anything from Barclays about 2 accounts and 2 loans since the letter saying they not accepting payment. Think we started our DMP's at the same time - June?
Citibank have refused offer as well......ho hum! But on a positive note i've not had one phone call - i'm not complaining just was expecting the phone to be ringing off the hook........:D0 -

Argh....*throws something* not the children. Lloyds the most annoying bank ever. Thought I had got them to take off the PPI from my Loan....oh well, did think that was to easy. Got a re finance of the loan through today, thanks for committing to paying xxxx amount - the correct amount if I could afford, we have included your overdraft...what??? I never asked for this, could not make sense of it all. Called them, thirty mins to get through to the right person who happened to be English, no offence but so much easier than some conversations I have had, where its got to the point I have felt rude for saying pardon every two mins followed by I don't understand you. Anyway, the idiots sent me a refiance which I cant have as on a DMP - even though they didnt know I was on a DMP? Have been for 10 months. Explained my situation re the PPI and how from day 1 I never wanted etc and have tried to get it removed since to no avail. They are now sending me a new loan thing with that gone but if I want it refunding I need to write to an address the chap gave me.
To you's with Barclaycard debts. I never and have never heard a word from them. You only hear if a creditor does not agree with your plan or ammount. They stopped interest and charges and have never in 10 months heard or received letters from them. Good as gold. They have just got a nice suprise and their amount has been uped slightly but they have not contacted me regarding this. I am not contacting them never have. They seem happy and I am chuffed to bits. Goldfish now Barlcaycard were writing to start off with but I think that was down to them merging at the time. I never wrote or contacted them and again they seem to be taking payment and freezing interest and charges. The only idiots I have to contend with are Lloyds who seem to have a massive work force and collective telephone directory for depts but they all say different things. Basically not a clue. Anyway, from their letters today, I have some more loo roll to last me a few days until the next like.
Good luck with Barclaycard but am pretty sure they have accepted what you are doing and hence no contact.0 -
at my wittsend - that's pretty rubbish about lloyds! I've just set up my account with them as i have credit with almost every other bank around! lets hope i can keep them happy ; )
regarding Barclaycard, that's good to hear, I'm due to pay my first payment in July and haven't had a word from them since sent them notification of DMP, lets hope it stays that way.

Evening All,
Update:
Mothercare card ( santander ) have accepted my DMP
Littlewoods haven't but the balance is only about £.300.00 so think I will continue with the orig offer amount with the hope they will pass to DCA and can offer them a F&F.
HSBC have accepted on one of the cards not heard back from rest of HSBC yet, but phone calls have ceased
MBNA want us to ring and discuss - too scared so have sent them a letter
NR - haven;t had a letter of acceptance but they have stopped calling
Natwest - have said will default then consider offer of payment
Hope this helps xxxLBM MAY 2009 :T

Libby316, try the free debt charities Payplan, CCCS or national debtline. These won't charge you for running your DMP most of the "private" firms would charge which you would be better off paying towards your DMP.
However, from reading posts on here the debt charities may be a tad busy right now so you may have to wait for an appointment.DMP member 265

After 6 months all is well, I have not had a phonecall since November when my first payments went out, so far 2 debts of 13 have been passed on to Debt collection agencies. Blair, Oliver and Scott who couldn't be nicer and hold our largest debt of 7,500. And Moorcroft who I have to say have been lovely. they were very helpful when I rang to tell them about the DMP, and they have just accepted the payment offered. I have to say my heart did sink when I realised Halifax had sold a cc debt to them, but no probs at all so far. I think the key is to be straight with people and don't hide from the debt. I have found that being upfront and polite to creditors seems to reap rewards.
Don't know if this helps anyone, but we are living again rather than existing, I don't think of money first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and with the help of this forum we are finally learning how to manage financially.
Have a great day folks,
Mandyx
Great to hear you are doing well on DMP.
I can relate to all of your comments about money morning, noon and night. I was just the same until Nov 2008 when i set up our DMP with NDL. For the first time in years, i can be positive about money. Life can be really bad with debt as you know, but there is hope, this website, along with NDL site, has given me that hope.
Good luck to you and your family for the future.

thinking about taking out dmp but not sure with who- any advice appreciated thanks.
Hi libby316, any of the free companies have been helpful, but I believe most people go through CCCS, you can either arrange one via telephone or you can set one up online. xxLBM MAY 2009 :T
