    Hi everyone

Thank you so much for all your replys feeling alot more positive today.

Bobbych did scare me quite a bit with his reply (sure he didn't mean to though).

We have decided to keep our payment at £300 to start off with and see how we go on after listening to all you lovely people on here.

I am so glad I have found this forum and people that are in the same boat.

Thanks again will keep you updated I am off out for a long work with my dog and 2 little girls today and am going to try and forget all about money.

  • Morning all,

I haven't been on here in a while, thankfully very busy at work (2 month till made permanent officially, 6 month probation....blah!!). We have our first annual review with Payplan and thanks to the informatuve postings on this board we're finding the situation relatively pain free! RBS and Lloyds TSB are troublesome however the phone is constantly on mute. And the Sun is shining!!

    Hi!!
Can i join this lovely thread please? Finally accepted we need help with our debts so filled in the online thingy with cccs last night and hoping to start DMP 1st April. (Seems quite apt.:rotfl:) In some ways i feel like thats ages away and just want to get started but also glad that it gives us time to sort everything out - need to open new bank account and transfer dd's etc. They forecast that we can be debt free in 3 years 2 months!! That is an amazingly short amount of time really and i can't believe it. I know its going to be tough but can already see the light at the end of the tunnel IFSWIM.

Edit: Ignore my signature!! Very out of date! Will redo soon!

  • Hi Guys

just had to share that Lloyds TSB finally accepted our DMP on the DH's account. They have said (in writing), they will cancel all arrears (putting it in to balance), reduce the interest rate to 0.482% per month and will review in six months time. Interest was 26.9% and the balance is around 13000, so this was just killing us. There is a God and he has leaned on Lloyds, a little!!!!

  • Ok i lied in my last post!! After a few additions that i remembered last night and a small cut in my husbands income that i'd forgotten abou too our DMP is due to last approx 7 years 6 months! Not quite as good as the first eastimate but still bloody fantastic really! Its all in motion now too, as i hit the button this morning! Feeling a bit nervous now.

Going to be using hubby's nationwide account for wages to go in and priority dd's to go out, so currently in the process of switching all that today. We're not in huge arrears with any creditors at the moment so want to get everything sorted while they're all still friendly! LOL

Thanks for the welcome and could i have a number please? Think i'm gonna be here quite a lot in the near future!

EDIT: still not sorted my sig!!

Wow, so many posts since we were last here.
Hope everyone os doing well, and Hello to all the new Debt free wannabe's :)

Well, Tuesday saw us celebrating not only Pancake day, but also 14 months into our 5 Year DMP.
We had our review and were able to increase our repayments from £642 to £656 a month, and put the fact that we are not able to make a bigger gesture down to the fact the cost of living, VAT etc has gone up along with fuel, plus Hubby had to take a 5% drop in salary last year :(

Anyway, Things for us are going good, of our 8 creditors, 4 have accepted the new repayments, but all continue to recieve the agreed moneys each month.
Egg Cedit Cards decided to sell our Debt to Cabot who, aside from having a small tantrum about repayment dates have gone quiet and are accepting our repayments.

our iphone contracts were up last month, and we were dreading signing new agreements just incase we failed the credit check, however we sailed though and have now "sold" our old Phones to Mazuma for £162 each .. a nice little bonus :)

Car insurance too was up for renewal, and we managed to save a whopping £240 by going with "More Than" and removing European Cover on both our Policys.
Car tax rebanding has meany we are also saving £50 on one of the car tax renewals too.

A new job may also soon be on the cards .. if it happens, we hope to beable to increase our household income a little too .. fingers crossed.

Is barclays the same as Barclaycard? I have a debt with barclaycard and Barclays are the only people who can open a bank account for me today with debit faciltities, no overdraft and give me account number and sort code there and then?

    Thanks for your help

Hi - did you ever get a answer to your question? I have a debt with barclaycard and am unsure about opening an account with them.
