I still trying to get my head round the DMP set up, but the general sense from what I read here is that you just have to stick with it and stick to your budget and keep making the payments. I never thought I would say this, but I am having better luck with debt collection agencies than I am with banks, they seem to be more willing to freeze interest and stop charges. Whereas the bank will still try and kick you when you are down. I wish you the best and hope you get some good news soon:)

Could I get a number please!

Yeah, pretty much. :D If you get defaulted and transferred to a debt collector, that is generally viewed as being a good thing.

I'll sort out a number for you shortly.

Does anyone else on a dmp have pets? I have found the allowance for pets way too little. I have 3 cats, and there insurance alone is just over £20 per month. Then you have their food, flea treatments, worm treatments, boosters. It actually adds up to be alot more than the allowance.

I have 3 cats too and I have all three insured for £10 per month with Healthy Pets.

I include their food in our grocery shopping, they get 2 pouches in the morning and 2 pouches at night between the three, so we only need 4 pouches a day. Plus they have dried food down all the time, so if they are hungry they can stock up on that which is much cheaper.

Flea and worm treatments I also get from the supermarket as much cheaper than vets and I include in the shopping budget. So that just leaves boosters which spread over a year should fit into a pet allowance.

    HTH! :)

  • Mozzy, I have a dog, cat and goldfish and am 'allowed' £21 per month for pets so I know what u mean. The only way around it is too make other allowances a bit higher than you actually need to compensate e.g we take maximum allowed for sundries/emergencies, dentist/prescriptions and entertainment so it seems to balance itself out at the moment (i,ll be knackered if i have a major dental problem though :rotfl:)!!!!

    Dear all,

Wanted to post reply from Lloyds after I sent letter to CEO asking them to stop CC interest. I have 3 debts with lloyds, loan, credit card and o/d. Loan and o/d fine, interest frozen also bonus with loan go back all ppi therefore reducing loan from over £11K to just over £5K. For some reason from day one (DMP since Sept '09, all my other other creditors have stopped interest, MBNA, Cahoot, Abbey, N/R and Egg, God willing long may this continue, would be fab if till DF) Lloyds credit card have been total bas%%s:mad:

So reply from Collection Post Team in Hove, East Sussex

    Dear Ms.........

    Account N.........

Thank you for your letter of 28/01/10

We have reviewed your accounts and are not able to freeze the interest or charges at this time.

We will not take any further recovery action as long as your payments continue as previously agreed.

    Yours sincerely,

I'm totally lost for words, I have over £6K outstanding on this credit card, I pay £64.73 each month and interest is added each month of almost £80 each time, how these people say that if you're in difficulty then call them is a total lie and I wish Lloyds will crush and burn:mad:

I'm really sorry that didn't work. That's how i got the interest frozen on my loan. They caused me stress and misery for years. I really hope you find a solution. Keep writing, or try a formal complaint procedure, and stress that you're trying to clear your debt, and that by doing this, they are putting your dmp with your other creditors at risk. And they would not be happy about this.
Or if worse comes to worse, do whatever you can to get that one passed onto the dca, thereby stopping interest.
    It's hard, I know.
