Hi all, hope ur all doing well, only pop in from time to time now for a catch up as ive been on dmp for a few years now and touch wood everything is going ok and rarely do i have any calls or letters from my 10 creditors, so update is i was over £33000 when i started and next month i will break the barrier of the getting under the 25k mark, next milestone will be under 20k, so still a way to go but going in the right direction, well just to say to any new dmp 'rs that tackling ur debts is a great thing and when u see them coming down u feel a lot better and that you have a debt free date to look forward to and then all ur moneys ur own, thanks to you all you have and continue to keep me motivated and positive, anyway all the best
Hi xgingerx - Hope you haven't popped off again yet and will still be around to read this post!
Find it really interesting and inspiring to read of how well your DMP is going, especially from someone so far down the line. Great news on your targets and keep on going!!! (And also thankyou to Daffykjs for your recent uplifting update)
As you say as the dust settles and the chasing and harrassment rarely tend to be a problem - the DMP becomes part of the thread of life. We'd rather it wasn't there but we're dealing with it day by day and slowing winning through. So I think it should also be a 'well done' to us all whether newbie or 'oldie' (to the DMP of course;))

Hello to all, just a question to those on a DMP with CCCS...
I hope this doesn't make me sound like an impatient nelly ^_^ but just wondered how long it took for the welcome pack with the paperwork to fill out comes through? I did the debt remedy on Monday, so it's not been long, but I'm starting to feel harrassed with my creditors...before they tried to work things out etc, now when I say I'm awaiting a DMP with the CCCS, all of a sudden they're mentioning legal action all out of the blueI'm guessing this is because they know they're not gonna be seeing an awful lot of money out of me!
I know it's a scare tactic, and I can't give them what I don't have etc and it's not the end of the world, but it has got me feeling as if I'm in limbo waiting now...
Cheers
Bex

Hi all,
Just a quick question but a little background. I will be moving to Cyprus in the new year and starting my DMP with CCCS in Jan when i'll be jobless  Not really my choice but only a temporary situation.
So Question My mum has said she we let me use her address for the CCCS and creditors, as i want to keep my Cyprus address separate and she will also check the post for me. My house will also be rented out and i don't want the tenants receiving the mail that is going to turn up.
So will it affect my mums credit rating having me registered there or should i just have my mail re-directed keeping me at the same address?
Sorry if its abit gabbled on my last night shift and shattered only 4 hrs left yawnnnnnnn.
Thank you and keep going everyone we'll get there x0 -

Hi Bex
It took about 5 days for the paperwork to come through, so you should get it shortly.

Hi Everyone,
One day I feel ok, then the next day I feel so down about this all.
Letter after letter from the 13 creditors, not even leaving 2 days in between letters when I check the date. Demands for this, demands to phone them immediately or else, I think not!
None of them have acknowledged receipt of my Notification of DMP letters or token payments (which have been cashed), 2 out of 13 letters are still on their way having been sent on the 29th Oct....so that is a pain....then the hold ups with the start of the DMP......and the rain, the endless rain.....sometimes it's hard to keep thinking positively!!
It's really really hard to keep a brave face on it, apart from my parents and brothers no one else knows what's going on and all my friends are talking about Christmas, going out, presents, buying new clothes, everything and I'm pretending everything is hunky dory!
Having a winge....sorry but thank you for listening!!!
Big hello again to returners and newbies.

Hi North Star68, I know exactly what you mean about up and down days!! I have days when I can barely stop crying and other days where I am positive (well ish). I have only just started writing to my creditors and am dreading the phone ringing!!
I am trying to do my own DMP as OH is self-employed so it's difficult.
I have found this forum to be invaluable and the people really do cheer you up.
Hang in there, you have done the hard part!!:wave:Debt Free 1st March 2017

Hi Ellieseleven,
Thx for that, it's lifted me already. My OH is also self employed......nightmare, he hasnt been paid now for 2 weeks so I am dreading his phone call this afternoon to announce that he's coming with no pay again......that's what it's been like the last 2 Fridays
How on earth are we going to stay on the DMP if he doesnt get paid for the work he does, it is so frustrating and the excuses from clients and the people he works for are unbelievable and sickening : forgot/cant get to cash point/cash point wouldnt give me money/ had other bills to pay!!!!! I could write a top 100 list of reasons given. It's not fair, sometimes I want to ring them up myself and tell them what I think of them! (I think my OH is worried about that......I am a little like a loose canon at the moment so I could go off at any moment! God help one of them if I catch them on the phone!)Total Debt : £61,302.84 :eek:DMP with CCCS started 1.01.2010Debt Free in 13 Years 1 month, hopefully sooner as things improve and they stop interest/charges!!Long Hauler #188 DMP Member 353Thank you so much to all posters :beer:0 -
Hi Northstar,
Just wanted to send you a dodgy looking hug :grouphug: .... We all have good days and bad but honestly it does get better, trust me. The letters and the phone calls will stop it takes a couple of months.
No one knows apart from DH so we have the constant 'secret' but again it gets easier when you find ways on doing things on a budget. I had been thinking over the last couple of days what's changed for us since March and to be honest not that much or it's for the better, therefore I'm going to give you some examples to hopefully let you see how life gets back to normal after the 1st couple of months of constant hassle.
1. We hardly get any post anymore and I'm don't dread going home to see what's lying on the mat.
2. I still get my hair cut every 6 weeks but only get it coloured every 12 therefore saving £260 per year plus I have someone come to the house.
3. I started by crimbo pressies shopping in Oct with the help of the this board (grabbit boards etc) and have nearly finished and have still managed to buy everyone something even though its a bit less than usual but I don't think they'll notice.
4. We eat and drink well (3 for £10 wine) when before we spent £6-7 per bottle so again don't notice the difference.
5. Clothes shopping now done at tesco, primmies and asda instead of Next, GAP & Monsoon:eek:. Kids get those type of clothes from Ebay for a fraction of the cost.
6. And we're planning a cheap holiday for next year 1 week in the sun, easy jet type flights, S/Catering. I have started to do a neighbours ironing to put towards our hols. Could have put it towards the debt but I think we need to keep our sanity and as we're in the for the long haul we need a bit of respite once in awhile.
Take Care

I know exactly what you mean North Star - before my OH was self-employed I knew exactly where I was up to with bills etc. and could budget quite easily but since he has been self-employed it has been an absolute nightmare! It has certainly been an eye-opener on how people operate. I've stopped counting on money coming in on time!Debt Free 1st March 2017
