    Hi Sas,

Just wanted to say, as long as you get your car serviced as it should be then a car should last more than 6 years. I too drive over 50 miles a day for work and have a 12 year old diesel which has nothing wrong with it, just passed MOT with flying colours.

I also had a Honda that was 16 years old and had done 180,000 miles and still nothing wrong with it, unfortunatley the body was starting to rust around the perfect engine. I did sell that to a mechanic who did it up and now takes it to car shows.

All I'm saying just give it a bit of tender loving care it may last longer than you think.;)

    Sx

Too true! Mine is a 12year VW with 95.000 on the clock and rising due to journey to work but no car=no job=no wage so look after it well.
And as to the TLC-we'll all last a bit longer with some of that :)

  • Hi guys, it's so good to read how the 'oldies' are doing, it's like a blast from the past when you see the familiar nicknames, I'm like 'oh wow I remember you!' I hope I am not the only one who does that? :o

Anyhow hope everyone is ok? I'm really sad to read when relatives pass away or children are ill, it certainly puts the money worries into a different perspective doesn't it? Kudox, I always seem to miss you on here :D good to see you still around and deciding to tackle the creditors yourself, you go get 'em girlfriend!

I'm ok still plodding along I have had to contact the Ombudsman though to find out about my Lloyds ppi refund from August  NOT a happy bunny about that at all! Maybe Santa will bring me some good ppi news this year, as Northstar keeps saying; PMA, PMA ;)

  • Hi Everyone

Another old timer signing in to update you all, I hope you are all keeping well and things are working out for you.

My DMP with CCCS is ticking along very nicely, all of my many creditors are still on board and my total debt is reducing slowely but surely. I will be ready for a review in January and hopefully I will be able to up my repayment if only by a few quid.

Nothing else to report as everything is going well, once again if anyone is considering a DMP just go with it as it is the best thing I have done financially since I was 18 and for the first time in decades I will be paying for Christmas in cash and not on credit.

Good luck to everyone however you plan to tackle your debts

    Hi,

A quick question Payplan instructed me to cancel my overdraft protection with Barclays and they are being a complete pain the a$^e about it! First I tried to do it on the phone and they said they couldn't do it for security reasons and I would have to send a letter....so I did but I didn't sign it! They then sent it back to me with a compliments slip to ask me to sign it so I did (but I used my short work signature) and now I have recieved another letter to say that as the signature doesn't match the one they hold on file then could I please pop into my local branch to cancel it. But I don't want to, and god knows what signature they would have on file as I opened the account when I was 13!!! Not sure what to do as I really need them to cancel this!
    Goal weight....lighter than when I started :D

So tell them your sig's changed since you were 13? Really not sure how to go about that...

And is it that bad to pop into the branch?

    Hello scouselad :hello:
Thought you'd won the lottery or were printing your own £50-00 notes now! ;)
Great to hear you are going on OK and I hope you got your insurance sorted out.
And you're so right - Christmas on the cash is just magical.

No you're not alone Toffee Penny! I think we all feel an affinity and a connection to folks who started their DMP around the the same time as we started our own, and it's great to see their user names pop up and hear how they are doing.
And I always wonder about members way back down the list. Are they still plodding on or have they passed over to the 'other side' (financially speaking! ;)) And hello to Jilly :hello:- great to know that you 'escaped'

(By the way I must say lovely as 'Toffee Pennies' are, my favourite is always the green triangle )

  • Hey TTF, how are you? I was wondering how you were doing this week.
I'm sure Bailey will be along this weekend to keep us posted.

    Hello Northstar!
Am well thanks. This week is honestly the first I haven't obsessed about the DMP every moment! Payplan were unaware that Sainsburys Visa had come on board so I have to send them a copy of the letter. So hope now that's all the creditors acceptance:T
Am I the only one NOT watching the England game? My boys are glued, it sounds like a constant mamba beat all over the house haha!
Hope you all have a lovely Sat night (despite the weather) here we go with the 3 for £10 wine - lush!

HAHAHAHA Same here, I'm not watching the game, my OH is though and has, as usual, left strict instructions that involve NOONE pass in front of the tv which would disturb his view!!!!
A normal thing to say I must add but lets get this into perspective here.....it's only a friendly game!!! If it was the World Cup then of course, I would understand totally!:rotfl:
    Total Debt : £61,302.84
    DMP with CCCS started 1.01.2010
Debt Free in 13 Years 1 month, hopefully sooner as things improve and they stop interest/charges!!
