Well, we've sent out the letters to the creditors, along with the token payment. Except for one creditor, as we're scrouring paperwork trying to figure where exactly to send it. We went to their website and they'd taken all the addresses down and posted a bunch of phone numbers instead, citing the postal strike and delays. DH suggested we wait until they contact us by post and then send the letter and token payment to that address, and I may go with that. Honestly, when they have 90 gazillion different "departments" it's really hard to know where to send things. We have one credit card that was having payments sent to GE Money, but we've gotten a statement just days after we sent the creditor letters and now it's going to Santander Cards. Arrrrggghh!!! It's enough to make you pull your hair out!

  • I have that problem too Triggles :(
So many places and cities in the country. I am sure this is why some of mine haven't responded, it is likely to take time to move the mail to the right place. In time things will settle down and we will know where (or rather the CCCS will know LOL)......to send the money, they will want their money so i am sure we will hear soon where to send payments.
    All the best!

I've got that Sunday night feeling, hate that! :D

  • Hi all :D
I am finding this forum very useful, well done people :T

I have gone for a DMP with CCCS
I've been ignoring my problem for far too long now (18 months in fact) and it has made me ill, to the point I now suffer from anxiety and stress attacks daily (really not nice) as I've been telling myself I can do this and the reality is I can't! I am starting to feel better now my DMP ball is rolling, I have sent my DMP plan to all my creditors and info back to CCCS and tonight I am cancelling all my Diect Debits as I've mad all pyament I've needed too this month, I'm just waiting to get my welcome pack!

Figures for you noesy ones :p
    Lloyds TSB Personal Loan £10,000
    Lloyds Credit Card £2,000
    Lloyds TSB Overdraft £300
    MINT Credit Card £2,000
    ARGOS Card £2,000
    Store Card £250

I made the biggest mistake off my life by doing something for a man (at the time for us) because he couldnt get credit and we have since split and I am left paying for it, hence the build up of stress and burying my head under the sand because I'm stubbon and wanted to do this alone, but again like I said above the reality is I can't do it anymore and i need help before it gets out of control from how it has now. I have kept up to date with nearly all payments but I requested reduced repayments on 4 as I couldn't keep up with requested minimums. No CCJs/baliff threats etc yet though MINT card have now passed me on to TRITON to re collect the debt.

The problem I have now is, I am still worrying

    Is this now sorted?
It all seems so easy to put through and blazay :lipsrseal
Are all the creditors going to agree to this, what happens if they don't where does this leave me?
What rights do I have about being hassled by my creditors?
Am I going to get CCJs/Baliffs threats and even go through process even though I have a DMP and this is in place and is working?
I rent privatley and share a flat with my friend so where does this leave me in these cirmustances?
What else do I need to think about?
    Consider?
I want to be prepared for the worst because I don't get much luck and I'm waitng for this to fall through, back fire not work and poo on me

All help appreciated, thank you ;)

    Hi Loopylooloo, :hello:

You have come to the right place! Welcome! And you have done exactly the right thing, you are dealing with it and you are going to be just fine. There is heaps of support here and Im sure everyone will be along soon to say hi also.
So sorry to hear you are having the anxiety/stress attacks, hopefully these will die down and stop over time, once the CCCS take over fully then that will be a massive weight off your shoulders.

Some of us are at the same point, we are also waiting for our Welcome Packs. As for CCJs and bailiffs etc, who knows, it depends on the creditors/debt collection companies I guess. One thing you can be sure of is that you arent alone and we are all here to give support whenever you need it.
Before I forget, well done for getting this far, you have done really well, you seem to be organised and know what you are doing so hold that thought,

lots and lots of PMA, PMA, PMA :D (positive mental attitude)

    Hiya Loopylooloo!!!

Welcome along!! Youve done the right thing I know it all seems scary but it is like having weight lifted once CCCS is involved or it was for me!! Dont know answers to your question but am sure others will. RE bailliffs etc dont think it will come to that just matter of waiting for your creditors to acknowledge the DMP I and OH have been on ours for nearly a year now and apart from 1 creditorhassling us (they'll get shock when they get letters I just wrote!!! revenge is sweet!!!) Keep your chin up lots of people on here in same situation and can offer support and help and advice!! Good luck!!
Proud to be dealing with my debts :j:j

  • I know exactly what you mean North Star - before my OH was self-employed I knew exactly where I was up to with bills etc. and could budget quite easily but since he has been self-employed it has been an absolute nightmare! It has certainly been an eye-opener on how people operate. I've stopped counting on money coming in on time!

Hi there, I just wanted to say we are in a similar situation. OH is a self-employed insurance broker and he makes decent money, just doesn't see any of it when he's supposed to.

We've been fairly lucky in that his partner has subbed him til the funds come through from the insurance co's, but a couple of months we had no help and he brought in about £130!!!

That month I had to transfer money from my credit card just to get by. And then enough was enough! I said "no more".

And so here I am :) But again, it's still stressful not knowing what's going to come in :(

  • Hi there, just wanted to update....

I have now received letters from each of my creditors, who are:

Natwest (loan, overdraft and small amount on credit card)
    MBNA (Virgin card)
    HBOS (Marbles card)
    Barclays (Barclaycard)

They all say pretty much the same thing in response to my notification of DMP letter and token payments and they have all been particularly pleasant. Although all have said they cannot halt interest until they've received payment proposals. I was dreading hearing from any of them, but all considered, it wasn't as bad as I'd imagined. Also so far, no phone calls.

As my first payment to Payplan will not leave my account until 25th Nov, I have written in reply to each creditor to tell them this. I also bravely telephoned Marbles and spoke to lady about that.

She was very helpful and just went through a couple of things with me and has put a hold on all phonecalls for one month (although to date I haven't received any).

Also, I'm coming to the end of my first month on my Payplan budget. I am paid again next Wednesday and I have £71.14 left. A wee bit tight but we are eating jacket spuds with various cheap fillings this week. My children are back with me on the weekend, so it'll be a cheap weekend with them.

Generally though, not a bad effort and I'm really rather proud of myself! Not to mention that nothing has been stuck on a credit card this month, for the first time in a long time :)

    With love, CC xx

  • Thanks for the replys and support, really appreciated :D

I forgot one question... I have a number plate on finance with a company and i didn't include it in my DMP, is this going to be a problem? It's value is £500 but I spread the cost over 3 years (hence still paying for it, have approx 12 months left) any similar situations/advice? Will I lose it?

    Thanks.

    Good evening,

I have a question regarding a creditor attempting to attach the debt to the property. I've had someone on from the High Value Debt department at RBS to inform me that the accounts will be going to default and the debt will end up registered against the property if we don't provide up to date information on the a number of RBS accounts.

We have had six month of utter crap with RBS and various departments, they refuse to acknowledge the existence of Payplan and yet send us an agreement last week to say everything is spot on.

I believe any debt can be attached to the property but it is rare this action is followed through. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
