Hi All,
I'm looking for advice from someone on a DMP...
I filled in my welcome pack for CCCS and letters to creditors and sent them on Monday 9th Nov and should be starting my DMP in december and was wondering how long it takes to start hearing back from them typically? Does the CCCS contact my creditors and only have then to they stop harrassing me? Will they contact me or the CCCS to let me know they've accepted the DMP?
I'm still receiving lots of calls and texts on my mobile and home phone asking for debts to be paid and I want this to stop asap. I know it's not long since I started the ball rolling but am wondering how long it typically takes.
Thanks0 -
Hiya Bobbyday,
Well done for taking that step!!! As to when creditors stop hassling you its a mixed bag really some will write and let you know others dont (or some of mine didnt!!) Even now 12 mths on one creditor still hassling us( Dont worry letters etc have gone off hope the OFT are free!!!)
But thinkgs will calm down takes a few weeks and maybe even a payment or 2 from the CCCS but am sure it will all work out for you in the end Best of luck andread these boards lots of help and support on here its amazing wish i hadfound this site ages ago!!!Proud to be dealing with my debts :j:j

Hi Bobbyday,
I am with Payplan and to date 7 out of 11 the creditors have accepted the DMP. The calls have stopped but I still get standard issue letters. Some accepted within a couple of days but others have taken more time. Three suddenly accepted today, just under a week from the offer going out.
Steady progress. Just spent most of the day on e-bay and Amazon putting stuff up for sale, feel better for doing it!:j0 -
Hi everyone!
am sneakily writing this at workcos its quiet.......
Update on mine DMP
NR loan - accepted payment plan - no hassle whatsoever!
Virgin x 2 CC's each - no hassle whatsoever!
Citicard - wanted £1 extra a month so agreed
Heard nothing from Lloyds (2 CC's and an overdraft) or Santander (Dotty P's card).
However we are just in the 1st month of setting stuff up so things are still happening in the Lloyds Bank account i.e. OH's Fire service pay went in!! i promptly took it out before they start playing silly b.........s and take it.
Anyhoo am not stressed for once, although i would like OH to be a bit more interested! i did tell him the other day 'should i just give you pocket money to spend?!!!'
Righto, i'd better do summat constructive!!

Evening everyone
Can anyone answer any of my questions on page 143 please?0 -
I believe a couple of people answered some of your questions, what ones are you still after answers for?
Regarding the number plate, have a word to CCCS or whoever, see what they suggest.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hello everyone!
I've not been on for a week or so but thought I'd drop in and see how everyone is doing? I've had two more letters of acceptance for my DMP so it currently stands at:
Nationwide CC: Accepted.
Tesco CC: Accepted
Cabot (Egg Loan): Accepted.
Coventry (Loan): Accepted
MBNA CC: Accepted.
NR Loan: Not heard anything.
Although I haven't had an acceptance from NR I haven't had any more letters demanding money either, and no phone calls - so it seems they have accepted and just haven't said. So, for now, it's all ticking along nicely. I only made my 1st payment to my DMP on the 1st Nov, so I'm amazed at how quickly it's made such a big difference. I haven't had a single call or demanding letter in almost 2 weeks. I still look at my mobile dreading missed calls but I never have any :rotfl:
How goes everyone elses DMP?I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.0 -
Hi all, haven't been able to post for the last few days, sorry.
Firstly, Hey Bailey! So glad that you are keeping your job for the meantime at least.
I was so pleased to hear that.
Got OHs Mint bill yesterday with 2 interest charges totaling £130!!!
We wrote off sharpish with a copy of their letter stating that they would freeze all interest and charges (dated a month ago).
If I have learned anything from this forum it is KEEP EVERY SCRAP OF PAPER THEY SEND YOU. Plainly one side of the company doesn't know what the other is doing, as usual.
Enjoying reading all the posts, especially the Newbies and I LOVE the name LoopyLooLoo!!!

Hi Impetus! I read your post with interest as my first payment goes to Payplan next Wednesday (the day I get paid so no messing about!).
I have now heard from all my creditors in response to my "I'm with Payplan, here's £2" letter and whilst I know they're standard issue, they certainly weren't as beastly as I thought they'd be.
My creditors are:
Natwest - Loan and overdraft
MBNA - Virgin card
Barclays - credit card
HBOS - Marbles card
I hope they're as speedy at accepting Payplan's offers as yours have been, but your post was inspiring to read
