  • Bailey this is the place to rant as we are all on the debt ship together
its sometimes like that in life...one hit after the other but we have a lot of resources we don't realise....you never know you may find a different career or modify the type of work you could do....wishing you lots of hope

. The business is going downhill fast and I will probably be made redundant
    .

Hang on to the fact that 'probably' doesn't equate to a done deed yet! Be obliging, indispensable and the most helpful person in the world to try and avoid the worst in the short term. At the same time time start looking for other opportunities-maybe you look at something not in your normal 'comfort zone?' Try to stay calm and controlled and deal with the DMP stuff as it arises. Make sure that any cash/payments you do receive you squirrel away. Keep to a really tight budget till you know which way the wind blows. You are in a state of flux and I do so feel for you. It's hard enough starting on a DMP without these horrible extra worries for you.
And re:a family - get through these first difficult months and it can happen. Just remember you don't need all the frills and fancy-a baby just needs food, warmth and love-not designer clothes or lace-trimmed cribs.

Hahaha! I'm going to Twitty's party with Kudox - he's funny!
    OMG! I hope he's a bloke...:o

Not that going with another girl wouldn't be fun too! (Someone hand me a spade please!)

You are all absolutely, absolutely MAD. I think the lack of cash (or cheap booze) has turned your brains into mush. I am considering upping sticks and going to the long haul thread where they might be more refined ;)
To all new readers and posters please be assured you will always get support and a sensible answer to your queries/problems but for the rest of the time this lot are crackers! :) and deserve to be sent to the naughty corner!!!

Aww Bailey hun - please don't stress!

am in a very similiar situatation to you - my hubby was made redundant 3 mnths ago - 2 months into our dmp.

its been a struggle - BUT we have mortgage insurance & also insurance with our secured loan so that has been a godsend.

get in touch with your dmp company & tell them - you can just do token payments for the next few months.

i know its rubbish at the mo but take each day as it comes.

me too desperate for a family - have been tryinmg for a baby for 6 years (very long story but half our debts are associated with ivf costs)

    thinking of you

Thank goodness it isn't just me who behaved like that. As you say, it's as if hiding it makes it all go away.

  • Oh nooooo Bailey59, I was answering posts in order and just came to yours. I am sending you massive hugs :grouphug::grouphug: I am so sorry to hear of what may happen......try to focus on the 'may' part.

We get dealt the cards in life and some days it's great and some days it's terrible, sometimes you get to change a card in the pack, so who knows what will happen. I will send you some of my Bach Rescue Remedy virtual of course, which has helped me this week.

You must post as often as you need and about whatever you want to bailey, everyone is so supportive here and this is exactly what we need at this very difficult and challenging time. Please don't ever feel you can't otherwise we will all get cross with you! ;)

Take each day, try to have a 'golden moment' where even if it's for just a minute or 2 you do something for you. Have that drink, put your fave song on, do a dance around the living room, whatever takes your fancy.....
and as my lovely mum always says 'everything will be alright'

You are going to be just fine, it is very worrying I know, but we are all here to help you through it.

Evening guys, I knew you would help cheer me up so massive thanks to you all. If they do give me the push it could be the best thing ever, would love to get out of my line of work and do something completely different so who knows. I am not going to fret about it anymore. I treated myself tonight to a nice botle of wine. 2.50 from the local shop so I dont feel too guilty about spending the shopping allowance. Its a bit sad though sat here on my own so if anyone else wants to join me please do. Im just about to open the caviar!!

Hope everyone is having a nice bonfire night. I am sat at home with the dog. He hates it. I missed eastenders cos I couldnt hear over the barking. It wouldnt be so bad just one night but it goes on for about 2 weeks!

I have just read through the last couple of pages cos I havent been able to get on much and I just want to say a big hello to everyone.

Helz, if you can speak to your creditors, tell them you are doing a DMP through CCCS and tell them the reference number if you have one and ask them to contact CCCS in future. If they start getting nasty just dont speak to them anymore. If like me you have been ignoring the phone for ther past 12 months it actually feels good now to answer it. I feel stronger just knowing I am doing something about it now. I sent token payments using my mums cheques so that may not be an option for you. If your new account is nothing at all to do with your creditiors then you will be ok sending payments by cheque. I know how you feel about work, I am having a nightmare with that too and my OH doesnt quite get it all yet so leaves everything to me. Its a lot to take on specially when your stress levels are in overdrive. Try and chill for tonight and not think about it all, hard I know but I find that the wine helps lol!

thanks Bailey , my bank account doesnt have anything to do with any of my creditors so i may just do that, was worried about my signature being copied (or am i being too careful?)

Think i will speak to my advisor tomorrow to alleviate any fears. Also had a letter from Northen Rock, they were keen! missed the payment on the 1st Nov, letter dated 2nd Nov!

OH had momentum when we were researching etc and now its the actual dealing with letters/phone calls he just doesnt bother!!

Anyhoo not going to worry - whats one more night! i have a promotion to apply for so think i should do that instead.

Re wine, would LOVE a glass of red but i dont drink on a school night!! Lol

    cheers
