I wish I could advise but I wouldnt really know what the best thing to do is. Maybe ask the CCCS counsellor on the other board or try another board....be careful though, they can be ruthless over there. I am interested though in what the advice is as we could be in the same situation a bit later.
Hope you get the answer soon.
Thankyou for kindly referring to me as a 'toddler' - one day you too will be 55 (but still feel 23 on the inside) My Mum must qualify as a child as she is rapidly approaching 94!
As to the mortgage question please see the excellent advice from both Geoffmr1 and ianmak on page 125. The best course of action in my circumstances and the one I am most happy with is to keep the payment at the higher rate and get the mortgage done with as quickly as poss to free up extra dosh for the DMP later down the line.
Good luck with your DMP 'Twitty'0 -

I rang Barclaycard who asked me why I was ringing as I no longer held an "open" account with them. The other two I rang and did the automated balance ring up thing only to be told (by an automatic woman whose name I will never know) that they didnt know who I was as they could not find a current account with a balance on it.... ha ha ha I will take it now that all my accounts are well and truly shut.

Hi Jilly
Great to hear you've got the accounts sorted at long last, and also glad to know that life is good for you. We are all still labouring on 'the dark side' but eventually our day will come too :j0 -
Hi Northstar68,
Glad to hear your Mum is in recovery, what a day you've had!!
Can def. recommend Rescue Remedy (it's Irish you know, ha ha!) so there may be some drink in it. As Mrs Doyle would say, "Go on, Go on, Go on"
Got a Closure of Account from OH's Mint card today, hope that means no interest like they promised! Also Halifax came up as 'Accepted' on Justabank today, so hope things are looking up for us all at last!
Love reading all the posts, am thinking of everyone. x

:kisses:Hi hun, lots of love and best wishes to you, your mum and all the family. We're all thinking of you.X
I have just made 2nd payment to CCCS, and have 8 creditors. Up to now only 5 have agreed to the lower payments (others playing hard ball - but not got so they can play as hard as they like). Only 2 have agreed to stop interest and 1 agreed to lower interest. Keep plugging away, it doesn't necessarily get easier but with all the lovely people on here, you're never far from some friendly advice and a willing ear.
Lots of love to all.:DAugust 2009 - Debt free - August 2013

Hi Tooth Fairy
All would be welcome but would be a bit of a squash - it's only a two bed bungalow! Perhaps we'd better leave the idea in the virtual world. And can you imagine the hangovers on the dodgy booze most of our happy band seem to imbibe?
Didn't anybody tell you Twitty? pm's are doing the rounds on here and rumour is you are holding the first ever DMP support thread Christmas get-together at your house by special invite only :rotfl:
Turn around, touch the ground, bagsy asking Ian to go as MY date that night girls!:rotfl:
Hope we are all doing well?OH had good news about more work (self employed building trade) so could be a good Christmas this year. Last year we really struggled and worried about paying the rent keeping up to date with CCCS, oh it was a total mess but hopefully we can relax a little this year and enjoy the break.

Aww thanks ttf! Oh god the last few weeks have been so hard with the waiting and the worrying and then all this DMP stuff too and work and.....I have felt like Atlas carrying everything on my shoulders, I do have some shoulder ache now!LOL
At least that is another hurdle crossed for my mum. She just needs to get over the op now, then wait to see what they want to 'do' with her next, hopefully nothing.
Hahaha, I will drink that rescue remedy in 1 shot then eh!
Good to hear you got another 'accepted', things are certainly looking up, now we just need a lottery win tonight! LOL
Good to catch up with everyone,

Hi all,
I've not been posting the last few days, I suppose I've got too much in my head and just can't put it all in words, perhaps cos I'm sick of thinking DMP stuff for a few days. DS is unwell as well and none of us have had a full nights sleep for 4 nights, its taken its toll a bit, as I've had a lot on, and DH is on nights.
Northstar68: Good to hear its been a good day for your mum.
Nothing too much has changed for us except that both A& L and Natwest have stopped access to online banking, which is ok except that we have online statements that we now have no access to, what do we do about that, write to them to ask for paper statements, also it now means we will need to pay for old statements when claiming bank charges.
Anyone else had this problem.
Hope everyone else is ok.0 -
Hi everyone ,
Just having a quick catch up session , nice to see the forum nice and busy although sorry for everyone who is having a c**p time at the moment OH's can be such a pain in the a**e
I had the strangest conversation with Barclaycard today?? They called me with that stupid automated thing they do and I thought I may as well answer and let them pick up the phone bill, spoke to Barclaycard 'far east' and she said that I need to contact Payplan and ask them to set up the payment to them, I told her I had already done this and that Barclaycard shows as being paid - she said this wasn't the case and re-iterated that I needed to speak to Payplan to set it up?? Anyway then got home to 2 letters today (1 visa, 1 mastercard) showing that I owe them money - will send baliff if I don't pay etc etc and then when I checked my last statements they show the payment from Payplan on them plus £24 in fee's, cheeky !!!!!!s! On the Payplan website both my Barclaycard account and Overdraft all show 'pending'??????
Oh btw on the up-side she was happy to offer me their own 'help -plan' , if I could just pay them £65 a month per card then they would be happy to accept this LOL !!Yeah I bet they would but as my whole DMP payment is £108 for all creditors I think this will be highly unlikely!!! Also would like to add that who ever came up with the phrase 'over commitment to credit' needs a medal I can't tell you how many times I have used that in the last 6 weeks LOL!!:D
I got my statements today from Mint and Tesco today who are both showing as 'accepted' on Payplan but both still had all the charges plus interest, will give it til after xmas and then get some letters in the post to all who haven't stopped, and thanks for the tip on claiming back double charges I also didn't realise you could do this!!:T
Good luck to all the newbiesGoal weight....lighter than when I started0 -

Hi twoflower,
thank you so much! It's a massive hurdle crossed with her today, we have been trying lots of PMA PMA PMA
So sorry to hear that these 2 banks have stopped access to online banking, I didnt hear that before.......I guess I can expect the same with my 2 soon to be 'ex' banks!
I'm sure someone will be along later tonight or tomorrow who can help.
I hope your DS gets better soon, it is so hard to be without sleep plus with all this DMP stuff going on, there is nothing wrong with having a few 'dmp free thinking 'days if you see what I mean. We all need our batteries recharged once in a while. One day we may get to recharge them in a luxury spa or something.......now that would be something to aim for in er 17 years 9 months LOL
Night all!
