At least that is another hurdle crossed for my mum. She just needs to get over the op now, then wait to see what they want to 'do' with her next, hopefully nothing.

    Hi Northstar
My apologies for rabbiting on about my 94 year old Mum when I had missed your posts re: your own Mum.
Good wishes to both her, yourself and all the family-may she have a speedy recovery and soon be well again.

    Hi all,

Havent posted for a while but have been reading and I just wanted to tell all those who are finding it tough that 6 mnths / year down the line you will think it is the best things you have ever done. I cant even begin to explain where I am at emotionally now compared to 6 mnths ago, on the verge of splitting with my partner of 7 yrs and getting desperate are just a few of the emotions!!!

Things are still tough but I've had my first crisis today int he form of car repair costs, £300:eek: but I will be paying in cash from my savings account. Whoop Whoop :j This is probaly the first time since having a car that I have done that.

Its not easy, the budget is difficult to stick too but we are managing fine, eating much more healthy and enjoying a sense of togetherness again.

My partner now gets told if we cant afford something, usually related to the food shopping and apart from him thinking I have loads of secret internet lovers, only surveys and daily clicks we are good:rotfl:

So stick with it and vent here if you need too.

    Bess wishes Sx

Didn't anybody tell you Twitty? pm's are doing the rounds on here and rumour is you are holding the first ever DMP support thread Christmas get-together at your house by special invite only :rotfl:

Turn around, touch the ground, bagsy asking Ian to go as MY date that night girls! :D :rotfl:

Hmm I'm getting a bit worried here, the lads/ladies ratio is a bit lopsided isn't it! Who's going to bagsy Geoff and Cocker? Where has Cocker disappeared to by the way?

Thank you so much Twit Head but really no apology necessary at all. Everyone is so lovely here and we all have so much on our plates and if we dont log in for 1 day there are lots of posts to catch up on, lots of new friends to get to know, it is totally understandable that some things get missed.I am soooooo lucky to have found a wonderful bunch of fellow DMPers here.

I'm just on my way to go and see my mum now, she was a bit rough post op yesterday but there is an improvement today. (she had a cancerous tumour which has now been removed), anyway, every little step.
    Have a good, productive day!

 How do you pay to watch TV online? I get my Broadband and phone from Virgin Media. My broadband and phone line costs me £19.99 per month, this is with all my local calls free. So over and above that all I have to pay for are mobile calls (which I try not to make) and 0845s etc. I put a limit on it so if the cost of calls goes above £10 my phone won't let me dial out (I can still make free local calls) that way I'm 100% certain my bill will never be above £40 - so no nasty shocks.

Thx hun, just on my way back to hospital to see her, she was a bit rough post op yesterday but has perked up a bit today, definate improvement, the main thing is that the tumour is all out and the docs are happy, we just have to wait for the results.
Ohhhh I know the feeling when the illness works its way around the house, get the calpol and nurofen and everything ready and just keep giving it, poor things. You must take care too, us girls just cant get ill can we!
    (dare I say it..........we are of course....superwomen ;))

    :rotfl:

Still got 5 DMP notification letters stuck in the post :(
No chance of them getting them now until next week after Monday I guess. Let's see.

Mummy can never get ill, it just wouldn't do! :rotfl:

The post are not striking on Saturday, so your stuck letters might move a bit then, I think it's Just Friday and Monday. These postal strikes have come at the worst time for us lot! It's nerve wracking enough without big delays in letters arriving!

I am on the BT Broadband basic package which was a mistake think I need to go to unlimited but its expensive...daughter watches Ugly Betty etc on Channel 4 online and son always watching american comedy shows and online FIFA games with his playstation etc so the streaming must be costing a fortune...I am tied into an 18 month contract. BT bill is phone and broadband in one so it really mounts up especially if the kids phone mobile # on the sly from home if they have run out of credit! My daughter just moved into a flat so I thought it would help but my student son keeps the bill high! Virgin sounds a much better deal..just starting my DMP so it leaves me scuppered :confused:
£120 of that bill was one off charges for exceeding the MB limit on our broadband package
    argh
