one question I have is why we have to include our bank overdraft in the DMP if you are always operating within your llimits. It would make life easier to keep that on while the DMP enables you to pay back all the other creditors. After that is solved then you would be free to reel the overdraft back in and not have the upheaval of dumping them and having another creditor chasing you that wasn't before.
    thanks

Because if you have an overdraft facility, you have "Credit" and when you are on a DMP, you are not supposed to have credit.

can anyone tell me if their DMP is with payplan and how they have found them, also if they have debts with creditors Halifax, nationwide, barclays, virgin. If they were helpfull and froze interest ect. I just signed with payplan and im so confused and scared by everything of what their telling me etc would like to re-assurance and support from fellow dmp members. thanks

Right, I would like to refer you at this point to Number one on my list. Dont Panic !!

We dave debts of £5000 with Virgin ( and over £20,000 with the underwriters MBNA ). They were fine with the whole DMP, however the virgin DMP payments were actually slightly more than the moinimum paytments on the Virgin Card we had, although they still say we are behind on our payments !! ???

We also have a joint debt of £9,000 with Barclays. aside from changing account numbers on the loan and us making payments to the old account, which subsequently were "Lost" for 3 months, they were fine too. 9 months down the like, everything is moving along nicely.
We found Payplan easy to work with, however as it has been said, they appear very busy and can sometimes "forget" you. Its nothing personal, they are a free charity. We find that by sending out a mail every 3 months to our councilor saying were all fine and happy, this keeps the corridpondence running.

So far we have had 2 reviews which consisted of an email asking if we were ok ? Both of which we responded to and we are happy to be left watching the money move around every month.
As has been said, justabank can be a little slow, and sometimes is offline (if like me you work shifts and defide to check at "silly O'clock".)

They do offer other "insurance" services, but as has been said, they are not pushy, they just want to make sure you are covered ( and I suspect there is a commission or payment made for selling the policy )

However if you pay the overdeaft off and tell your bank you no longer wish to have this feature ... I suppose there is no problem. You have no debts with your bank, and no OD facility. - in this case... no need to change

I had a lovely surprise this morning when I logged onto my Barclays bank account. I generally check my account every day now to make sure all direct debits & visa debit card payments have gone through as they are supposed to & also just to make sure I know exactly where I am.

Anyway after logging on this morning my balance had suddenly jumped from next to nothing to over £1260. MBNA have finally refunded my mis-sold PPC from my personal loan back in 2002, to the tune of £1257.53. Thats made up as follows:- the original amount of £762.34 + interest at 8% £295.19 + goodwill gesture £200.

It's taken nearly a year of fighting them both myself & the ombudsman but well worth it in the end. It's funny though because they haven't even sent a letter out confirming the refund, they just put it into my bank. I think they're sore losers.

I have another PPI claim ongoing against Norton finance but I won't get into that as this is a DMP thread not a PPI one. I'm just so happy right now, I can start buying Christmas presents. :snow_laug _party_

Awww, no! It said in the letter "place in the pre-paid envelope provided" it had the address etc on it but no sign of pre-postage. I stuck a first class stamp on it - but it's probably heavier than 1st class would normally be. I'm scared it's not going to get there now. :embarasse

I'm sure it will & I bet you're not the first - bit confusing if they state pre-paid but the envelope doesn't!
