I am sending off my DMP paperwork today - wage slips, statements etc. Two quick questions:
1) It says in the letter the envelope is pre paid, but there is no stamp on it and the address isn't freepost (Just CCS, DMP Processing, Wade House, Leeds, LS2 8NG. Should I stick a stamp on it just in case? Or is it freepost? I'm wary as it doesn't say!
Thanks!
Fairly sure you'll need to put postage on it - I guess the reason they don't is that they don't know how much it will weigh so don't know the cost?!Long haul supporter 1790 -

If you're sending your stuff off today to them (copy statements, proof of income) it may be worth sending a covering letter saying you'd like to start on 1st Nov if poss. I would call them in a week if you haven't heard as it may just be a delay in the post.
I'm no expert though - only started mine last month!!
I already sent it, otherwise a covering letter would have been a really good idea! Ah well, it's done now, I'll call them up next week and find out what's what!I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.0 -

Awww, no! It said in the letter "place in the pre-paid envelope provided" it had the address etc on it but no sign of pre-postage. I stuck a first class stamp on it - but it's probably heavier than 1st class would normally be. I'm scared it's not going to get there now. :embarasseI'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.0 -

Hi all
Hope you're well. I've been on a DMP for about 4 months now through CCCS and have 4 creditors, 1 store card, 2 CCs and an overdraft. The 2 CCs I have heard from and the store card too but I don't seem to hear much from CCCS and when I called them they don't have much info on what's happening with the creditors. Don't get me wrong, not unhappy with CCCS as such, just thinking that I might aswell just take over the dealings with the creditors myself. Is it easy to cancel your arrangement with CCCS and if so, are the creditors normally ok with you dealing with them yourself in peoples' experiences?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
If you did want to cancel your plan, just give the CCCS a call and they will cancel it for you. If you did decide to do the plan yourself then, just stick to your guns with the creditors – don’t let them pressure you into paying more than you can afford.
The best way of making the payments would either be through a standing order or a payment book rather than direct debit.
Let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to help.

Hi, We have found Payplan great. The Justabank website is not so good at the moment as they are updating but an email to Payplan gets any answers asap.
Our biggest debt (30k) is with Halifax, we haven't heard from them yet. Suspect they are going to fix the debt to our house, which is ok as we're not going anywhere! In the last week we've got 6 companies confirming that they are accepting our DMP:T Only 4 more to hear from, the 2 biggest and 2 smallest!! One we heard back from was Virgin so hope that helps.:j:hello::hello::jDMP mutual support thread member 3480 -

Hi,
My DMP is with CCCS but wanted to let you know of my creditor experience with Halifax and Barclays. Halifax have frozen interest on one credit card and reduced interest to 1% on the credit card with a higher outstanding so cant really complain on that one. Barclays have been ok so far which I am surprised by as they are my biggest creditor. I still bank with them even though just their basic account and no offsetting has occured (they have some agreement with CCCS). They have defaulted all accounts (o/d and 2x loan) but since then nothing, not even passed to Mercers which I was expecting!!!!! When I have phoned collections they have always been clear and consice in explaing any questions I have.
Hopefully, it will see this way:j

Grr, wrote out big reply and the lappy crashes...
So, long story cut short, PayPlan are cool, but you need to work with them as they are snowed under! They may also try to sell you stuff (Insurance/payment protection, IVAs....) but they're not pushy.
Debtwise, I have 12k with Halifax (thru Halifax, IF & Sainsburys), they all passed onto Debt Recovery Agents, and all stopped interest.
Nationwide OD (and other small debts) were extremely awkward and after 5 months and threats and charges, eventually passed over to Moorcroft. Also quite irritating at the start, but have gone quiet now.
Are Virgin run through MBNA? I have Abbey card with MBNA and they have been ok (6k debt), they've recently passed over to Link Financial. Again they stopped interest.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
if you donot have any outstanding debt with your bank, then fine ... Usually, poeople have overdrafts that are being included in the DMP, so a closeureof bank account is advised.
Cannot comment on the freepost bit, were with PayPlan
Good luck though
You won't be able to have an Overdraft with the account if you keep it, something to remember.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
one question I have is why we have to include our bank overdraft in the DMP if you are always operating within your llimits. It would make life easier to keep that on while the DMP enables you to pay back all the other creditors. After that is solved then you would be free to reel the overdraft back in and not have the upheaval of dumping them and having another creditor chasing you that wasn't before.
