Re: Next
I got one of those 'sign this letter' things, but i got another letter a few days after which said to ignore anything previous and that they accepted the payment proposal etc.Hey, Soul Sister0 -
Has anyone had a letter from next asking to sign a letter so that they can start the payment arrangement and a new credit agreement to sign? I am not signing the credit agreement as why would they do this, feeling a bit suspicious!
Just wondering on peoples thoughts. Not too fussed as squirrled enough away to pay this off as a very low balance about £100 nowbut I know CCCS dont like you doing this.
Sx
I had one of these too. CCCS advised me not to sign it and just carry on paying them the monthly amount. I haven't heard anything from them since but notice they're no longer charging interest, which is good.Long haul supporter 1790 -

Hello I have arrived home today to find a letter from SCM Solicitors to say that Lloyds have passed my account xxx over to them. I called 0845600xxx as requested and got through to a man who started talking about my other Loan account with them xxx1 , he said that the agreement had been made to make payment at the end of September, I explained that my plan was starting in October so they would get the first payment at the end of Oct, he then requested that I ask you to resend another letter confirming payments, budget sheet etc. He then passed me over to another man called Matt xx (his contact no 0845600xxxx) who said that the reason I had got the letter about the loan account ending xxx was because my proposals were too small. He asked me to up the payments by £5, I said I couldn't at this time but I have started a new job so my increase in wages will be coming through in the next month or so. He said he would put a note onto the account and for me to contact him when I could afford more then he will try and stop charges etc. Please could you advise me on this.
OMG Pooping pants...
hiya MM
i had exactly the same letters from SCM solicitor regarding my Lloyds CC.
I basically called them up (its lloyds own dept) - was asked if i could pay any more -nope i said - then they said thank you, we''ll update your records and that was it. I asked what would happen next but the numpty on the other end said i would have to wait 14 days for my next statement??!
next statement arrived asking me to call MHA collecctions (again Lloyds own dept) - i did -very lovely lady said within 40 days the debt would be passed to their debt recovery dept and they would contact me with regard to the payments.
So thats how i've left it.
BUT this will make you laugh - - they won't accept £55 pm towards a £9k debt but they will accept £56.01!!!!!!! hilarious i think.
so i'm in 2 minds just to get cccs to offer them the £1.01 or then i think - why should i!!!
(i also pooped my pants when i got the SCM letter - but the lovely lady from MHA collections said to ignore any more i get from them)
sasMassive !! LBM June 09 - Debts [STRIKE]£70k [/STRIKE] now £63k (PPI Claim succesfull)
will never ever ever get credit again (couldn't if i wanted!!!! - LOL - have to laugh, keeps me sane.

We had a letter from Moorcroft yesterday saying that our HSBC visa debt has been passed to them - funny because all our other HSBC accounts were passed to Metropolitan.
I was just wondering what other peoples experiences of them have been like?
I have had some dealing with Moorcroft. I would advise you to only respond to them by letter and not on the phone. They do phone all the time and they can get nasty.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

Hi this is my first post, i am very stressed out and scared about the whole process, i was hoping for some advise and information for people on DMP. i Have just contacted payplan to arrange an agreement with them for mine and OH finances i lost my job over 12 months ok, i have been working for 12 months but after april P60 realised that i was loosing 6k a year from my previous job therefore resulting us in getting further in debt as we have kept up with all our repayments but this only been done through overdrafts and balance transfers. I would like some information on what to expect and what to be prepared for i have already dealt with a couple of people regarding missed payments ( only this month), and thats frighten the hell out of me put we cannot continue how we have been , so i went for help. thanksI am a Travel Agent My Abta number is D0238. Hi TravelGuru,
You have, probably, just done the very best thing in contacting a DMP organiser. Getting further into a mess you can't afford is such a common mistake, I've done it, throwing good money after bad, so have most other people on here.
It seems like you are throwing yourself off a big cliff but the reality is that when you hand over all the control to people (who handle this all the time ) you realise that you don't have to do it on your own anymore.
Please don't be scared. Admitting you need help is a good bit of the battle. Six months ago, I wouldn't even look at my balances on statements, just paying the bare minimum and hoping it would all go away. Gradually I started paying for the most basic things by card because paying it all left nothing to live on. Sooner or later the cards are maxxed out.
Going on to a DMP was the best thing I ever did. They contact all the creditors, ask them to stop interest (though that takes a while) and allow you enough to live on while you get through it. (that bit is sometimes hard but you always get by).
Realistically, I ignored the phone for a month while it was all being established and, once the first payments go out, and you have money left it feels great.
I sound like someone who's done this a long time, but I just started paying my DMP this month and already I'm convinced it was the right move.
Trying to juggle debt for 6yrs+ was enough for me. If you take the advice offered here, you won't go far wrong, everyone has been so helpful( I have to thank some of them for a nights sleep!)
It sounds as if nothing can be worse than what you are in at the moment. so crack on and get it sorted. Sorry to go on a bit!
Good Luck and keep posting so everyone can offer help and support.

Hi all,
Well finally FD have passed my debt on to metropolitan - which means interest stops nowat last  (it was reduced rate so only 6% but still)
Metropolitan tried to get info out of me they weren't entitled to - whether I was employed, how many creditors I had, whether I wanted to deal with them direct instead of through the "third party" (CCCS), since it could take some time for the third party to send out payment proposals to them. I said no I'm happy with the DMP and it means ALL my creditors are treated fairly.
My advice is only speak to the creditors when you are in the mood for a fight and know 100% you won't give in
Be suspicious of creditors asking you to sign things - always check with your DMP company or on here, never go through your income and expenditure over the phone (they're hoping you forget something so it looks like you have more spare money than you do), only talk to them when you feel bolshy
Also, the debt does increase a bit at the start of a DMP while you pay reduced payments and they decide whether or not to agree and stop interest. So just stick with it and go with the flow for a few months (mine was about 4 months till all either reduced or stopped interest).
Remember, you owe them money - not your lifeworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
