  • Hi fellow DMP'ers. I've been lurking rather then posting for a few months as things have been really quiet for me since starting my DMP. I'm actually feeling a little lost and as though I should be doing something, but there's nothing to do! I've posted about my partner applying for a loan elsewhere on the forum and am having butterflies about that as we didn't realise that lenders can view my information when he applys for credit, so apart from dreading going home tonight things are working well with my DMP so far. I'm about to up payments in the next few weeks, only by a small amount but hoping it goes favourably in my name.

I hope everyone is doing well and keeping sain through it all, I know i nearly lost it a few times at the begining.

I can't thank everyone in this thread enough for their help and advice. x

there is a thread on here DFW about a poster who got there defaults removed from reference agencies by informing them that the CC loan etc was unenforceable I THINK... under section 77/78, and they had them removed,

could we all come up with a letter to send to the agencies to have our defaults removed??????? there are no template letters so could we get our heads together (what i mean is the more inclined do the brain slogging and we just post the letter off:D;))

would this be of any help to peeps as this would be a BIG blow to the banks.

  • Hi everyone. Just a short update - after my snotty e-mail to Egg, it has all gone quiet - but - Citibank have started. They tried to call last Friday when I was out. Then I got a letter yesterday, and I have just had a call from them. They said that CCCS had been in contact but they hadn't received any payment proposals. I explained that they will receive the first payment by the end of the week, and they went away. I then called CCCS to see what was happening, and they said that CITI have actually written to accept at the end of August -so what was that about?! CCCS said that it should settle down once the creditors start receiving payments. Interestingly, Next & M&S have written to me accepting DMP but CCCS haven't heard anything from them.

Also I received some advertising stuff from Egg today that says they are now part of Citibank.

big thanks to Toffee Penny for your help last night. Have written a letter which I will post tomoz acknowledging the default notice, have explained that haven't got the dosh to give em but will continue with their payments via cccs.

Have sent off list of charges to Barclaycard to ask them for my money back. (Fingers crossed on that one). Am gonna write to MBNA and Capital One to tell them their 40 days are up and that I am going to report them to the Information Commisioner for lack of assistance.

Hope ur all doin well this evening, I know I'll sleep better tonight.:D

  • Hi all, haven't posted for a while but just wanted to clear few things up.

I contacted CCCS (thanks to your advice) in August and going from my income/expendidture (my income has now dropped by £30/week since then although I haven't had any for 2 weeks as I'm waiting for my Jobseekers claim to go through) I was able to offer each of them £1 per month. This has only been approved by 3 out of 10 of my creditors, the others have been phoning (which I don't answer as I know I'd be pressurised into paying what I can't afford) but I de reply to every letter I receive. Argos and Very say they won't accept my offer and are threatening me with a default. I haven't heard from Next or Daxon, I don't know if this is a good sign or not.

In other news, I'm still trying to find a job and trying to work out how I feel about my mum but everything is still numb.

    Thanks for reading :)

Hi, chin up. Just had my very first default notice, which I thought was end of the world until Toffee Penny explained what this is and what it entails. I feel much better now.:j You got to remember they can't have what you've not got. Keep up with the minimums and contact cccs, they have been brilliant with me and they're there to help you.
    Big hugs for now.
Will keep an eye out for your posts. X

  • Hi All, I'm over from the IVA board as we've just found out today that our Northern rock who we owe 50% of our debt wont play ball and have decided that if we change to a dmp they will get all there money back, but and this is a big BUT, thats on the basis that all other creditors will accept NR being given favour over them. (we currently have a together mortgage which includes a loan of 30k which gets paid with the loan reypayment)

So cccs's iva company are referring us back to cccs to start the ball rolling on a dmp.

Does anyone have any experience of something similiar e.g their creditors allowing another to be priortised? Especially aas one of our creditors is virgin and they have been just horrid.

    Thx xx

Hey twoflower (A Discworld fan?), or am I on another planet here...

Could I ask why the NR debt will be prioritised when on the DMP?

  • Hi Ianmak,

I'm not really sure it was my DH that spoke to cccs today, and that was how he explained it back to me, so when we have our next phonecall on thursday I will check all the details.
  • Hi Everyone

I hope you are all well and your debt is slowly reducing ;)
All is quiet on my DMP front at the moment and I have to say I am enjoying every second (while it lasts :D)

Anyway I have managed to open a savings account with Tesco, so hopefully that £10.00 of points will come in very handy, when I eventually get them ;), I am thinking into the future at the moment about Full and Finals, If I can manage to throw a few quid into my savings account every now and then I may be in a position to make some offers in the near future, for example one of my debts is around £50, would CCCS let me pay this off If I could get the cash together or would they expect the £50 to be split between all of my creditors ( they will probably end up with £2.50 each :D) I would rather get rid of one creditor than pay them all a ridiculous amount.
