 ah well it was short lived-barclays sent letters for our 2 loans today, saying they dont accept the DMP offers, but they will freeze interest till they pass it on to thier debt recovery people. So 2 accept 2 reject so far-8 to go!.Do I wait until the debt is passed on before I inform CCCS?

Hi guys, just thought I'd pop in to say hi. Still battling with some creditors about the date of which they receive their payments, but all in all most are still on board and the amount of letters hitting my mat is slowly reducing (much to the postman's delight!) hope you are all having good outcomes with your DMP's and those that aren't stick with it and soon you'll not be giving it a second thought! Hello to all the new faces too. xx

    Hi,

I too had letters from Barclays for both my loans and also a termination letter for my current account saying they wouldn't accept my CCCS payments. That was in May and they are now receiving pro rata payments but I have heard nothing further, no details of any DCA so CCCS are still paying barclays direct. The only info I have had is my annual statement which they now have to provide.

  • hi everyone
please forgive my ignorance but what does defaulting mean and what is the impact? I have head that if you are not paying a certain % of the debt the creditor is more likely to default. For the next 2 months I will be able to pay less on an DMP as Im on maternity leave, when I go back to work in October / November Ill be able to pay a larger contribution as I will be receiving a full salary again. I guess my question is whether they are more likely to default in these 2 months and if thats a bad thing.
Im guessing it damages your credit rating but mine has already suffered in the last few months so it cant get much worse.

    Hi All,

Just joined and currently in the strange position where I am part relieved and part pooing myself- My DMP is in place and all up and running except for my Lloyds TSB credit card. Had a letter through from some solicitors at the weekend about the debt threatening court proceedings but having spoken to the CCCS, they tell me it is their internal solicitors and that it is just the next stage in a chain which will hopefully end up with them accepting the DMP proposal. Great relief to hear that but also rather disturbing that one of the biggest high street banks are prepared to use scare tactics like that with someone who does want to pay back their debts rather than running away from them. Perhaps I am being a bit naive!

Anyway, only wanted to say hello but ending up ranting!

They are not even proper solicitors, a while back someone who worked for Lloyds admitted it was just a legal department within Lloyds.

    Hi,
I haven't been on for a few weeks.. I'm in limbo land at the moment, lol.. the calm before the storm! ;)

My DMP is due to start on the 1 Aug, I have my new bank account set up so am just awaiting my creditors to start the phone calls and letters!

Part of me is really scared and nervous about what will happen now and the other part of me is happy that I made the decision to get my head out of the sand about my debts!

Just wanted to say Hi really :D

Thats because Lloyds TSB are a bunch of utter W*****s, with not an ouce of knowledge between them!

They are the most badly organised and useless business I have ever had dealings with, and it really boils my p*** that my taxes are helping to fund their wages!

    (End of rant)

You decorated that so well with so many stars!

Lloyds are so useless with money that they are actually in the end the least hassle but initially they sponsor royal mail with letters. Write to them show you know your stuff and they will back down - espcecially if you throw formal complaints at them and quote OFT guidelines.

I did and got my interest repaid they had added on, interest frozen, payment plan accepted and a case of wine at Christmas.

    Don't you love incompetance!

I make light now but at the time it got me down then one day I thought sod being down lets get mad and even.
