Unfortunately you've learnt that PayPal, despite what they say, don't protect buyers or sellers - they only protect themselves.

Hi guys, thought i would give you an update:

I sent the following e-mail to them:

I received the above e-mail today and was very disappointed. I do not see how I should refund the seller:
    1. When I filed the dispute originally he did not contact me at all even though I sent e-mails early on before the dispute was filled with paypal. Does it not seem too convenient that the seller has requested a refund after a few days I received my refund?
    2. The proof of postage shown has to be incorrect as I did not receive the item. I believe it should be investigated further. If he was genuine he would have replied back to my e-mails and to the filed dispute which he did not.

I have carried out many transactions via paypal and I have never had a single problem at all. You can see my past record and you will find I am telling the truth.

Overall I should not give a refund as I did not get the item. If the seller was genuine he would have contacted paypal within the few days of the dispute.

and today got an e-mail from paypal:

Per the seller's request, we have issued you a refund for the transaction.

If the payment, or a portion of the payment, was funded by your credit
card, the appropriate amount will be refunded to your credit card. You will
see this in your transaction log as two entries. The first is the refund to
your PayPal account and the second is the credit to your credit card.

Thank you for your cooperation with our investigation

Now i just hope paypal does not reverse their decision again!
