Doggie poo - what do YOU do?

This thread has made me laugh!! My Dog "goes" about 5-8 times per day! No idea why, but he just seems to poo alot LOL
I bag it and bin it
Might be whatever you are feeding? Cats and dogs fed on high meat content foods, especially raw diets, apparently produce less poo and less smelly poo than dogs and cats with a lot of cereals in their diet. Certainly that is my experience with my cat Noah: he has gone from two smelly poos to one not at all smelly poo a day. :j
You might also try a course of probiotic bacteria as this can regulate both diarrhoea and constipation, and helps the animal digest and absorb the nutrients in food.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Lol, amused at this thread coming back to life.
I am still bagging and binning! Haven't come up with a better solution as yet but will let you all know if i do!
I don't mind so much, but OH hates that feeling the texture of the poo through the plastic bag too, lol - he adds a pair of plastic gloves to help remove the feeling, haha!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
mrcol1000 - really honestly doesn't smell - Im in Australia so its dry v quickly - I guess within one hour. And I do 'collect' regularly.
Plus my neighbours cant complain - there dogs often poo at the front of my house - big ones!0 -

Sorry I misread your post as when it drys it doesn't smell. Not that it doesn't smell to start off with.
I don't know about laws over there but I am sure that you should complain if they are not clearing up after there dog.0 -
Yes I used to use one of these: http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/products-Pedigree-Easi-Scoop_CN144016.htmWine_of_the_World wrote: »Has anyone every tried any of the devises for picking up dog pop - I have seen some advertised on the internet. It means that you don't actually have to feel the slimy horrible poo feeling through the plastic bag, you just put the machine thing over the poop and its bagged and even stored in the devise.
It was easy to use, you just held the plastic bit at the top then put the bag over it, so you never have to feel the poo and the scoop doesn't get dirty.
I don't bother to use one when on walks any more though, just carrying the bags takes up far less space.0 -
You are mistaken - I wish people would not post things on forums as truth when they either do not know, or have not researched properly.
The original dogs (fouling of land) act 1996 stated the following:
(2) This Act does not apply to land comprised in or running alongside a highway which comprises a carriageway unless the driving of motor vehicles on the carriageway is subject, otherwise than temporarily, to a speed limit of 40 miles per hour or less.
(3) This Act does not apply to land of any of the following descriptions, namely—
(a) land used for agriculture or for woodlands;
(b) land which is predominantly marshland, moor or heath; and
(c) common land to which the public are entitled or permitted to have access otherwise than by virtue of section 193(1) of the [1925 c. 20.] Law of Property Act 1925 (right of access to urban common land).
This has been superceded by the clean neighbourhoods and environment act 2005 which states that the onus basically has been placed on local authorities to designate which areas they legislate over for the cleaning up of dog mess and the authorities. This generally follows the along the same line as the older act and may include:
parks
recreation grounds
children's playgrounds
sports grounds
tourist beaches and promenades
picnic sites
pedestrianised areas
pavements
verges
footpaths
gutters and carriageways
My particular authority for example only includes footpaths and public open spaces

I just think its common Courtesy to clean up after my dogs where ever we are.

I agree with chris n tj
I think its common courtusy to scoop a poop if your dog is responsible.
even when i go to OH house, i tend to wander around the garden just before i go to scoop the poop.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
We have a shared septic tank, so ours just gets scooped up and put straight down the drain under the man hole cover. If she does go when were out and about then I pick up with nappy sacks and put in nearest bin.
Sassygirl, my 6mnth old pup goes prob 5-7 times a day too, although shes still getting 3 meals a day at the mo (am now trying to move her onto 2), shes fed on JWB got no idea if that makes a difference though.0 -
. Avoid Bakers, as your dog will turn into a sausage factory!
