quite lucky where we are our borough give out free dog poo bags which are strong so no mucky hands.i have 2 jacks and always pick their poo up when out walking as its one of my pet hates seeing dog owners ignoring what their dog has done. Before you point fingers, make sure your hands are clean !;)0

My pooch is on Skinner's and poos usually twice a day, sometimes three times depending on whether she wants to force out a protest poo on a walk!
We have a plastic swing bin at the bottom of our garden which has a bin liner in it. I bag each one of her poos and put them in there. I empty that bin once a fortnight the day before the wheelie bin is emptied.
I'm horribly environmentally unfriendly because of the double bagging, but at least I'm being responsible and my garden is clean!0 -
what agreat thread :rotfl:
My dog poo's 7 times a day on average! I have no idea why or how he can actually produce that much but he does! Im going to have to change his food.
I use nappy sacks, and if the wheelie bin starts to smell i buy jeyes fluid powder for bins0 -
wow theres now a good use for tescos carrier bags :rotfl::rotfl:they disintegrate!!0

my dog is fed on Dr Johns Gold complete dry food and he goes once, sometimes twice a day. When he was on Bakers he went more often and when he was on wilsons with gravy he was a walking poop factory!!!. We always pick up his poo and bin it,but use paper bags as we have plenty in household use, i.e large paper envelopes you get junk or other mail in, empty flour or sugar bags..... any strong paper bag or envelope will do and no we don't have a stinky bin either not even in this heat!!0

This thread has made me laugh!! My Dog "goes" about 5-8 times per day! No idea why, but he just seems to poo alot LOL
I bag it and bin it0 -
Has anyone every tried any of the devises for picking up dog poo - I have seen some advertised on the internet. It means that you don't actually have to feel the slimy horrible poo feeling through the plastic bag, you just put the machine thing over the poop and its bagged and even stored in the devise.
I am VERY squeamish, so this seemed like a wonderful idea. Just wondered if they actually worked or where a waste of money,. Could end up in a big pooie mess otherwise
At the moment I scoop once the poop is dry, bag and then bin. I think cos its dry it doesnt smell. I'm very lucky cos mine almost always goes in the back garden.0 -

I would be careful doing that. I know of many neighbours who have complained about their neighbours not clearing up after their dogs and the council having to write a nasty letter because of the smell nusiance (usually in the summer when people sit out).
If the dog always goes in your back garden you can buy a special fitting that fits on to your outside toilet waste pipe and basically you have a scoop and scoop it up and then drop it down the hatch and it goes straight into the sewer. They also sell special bags which you can use in conjunction with this.0
