I have tried to uninstall the old security suite by choosing their option to uninstall but it just sticks -the bar showing progress has only got a few bars/about a tenth of the way along)and the screen cannot be removed - I have tried going into control panel,add/remove programmes but it says that another instance of this request is already running and to try again later but it has been over two hours now and the uninstalling process seems to be stuck as last year when I did this it took minutes I cannot turn the computer off even at the tower manually I am afraid that I will crash the comp if I am not careful but turning off at the mains seems the only way around this - I think:confused:

    hi babyj3,
have you made sure the old programme isn't still running on you pc? look for an icon at the bottom near the time, if there, right click and exit it. sorry, can't think of anything else, other than maybe start in safe mode to do it.
also, to stop it now, press control, alt, delete (together) to end the task.

Get a big stick and give it a good thrashing...won't do the PC any good...but you'll feel a lot better.

Just wondered if anyone elses IP address changes whilst computer is still switched on? I usually leave mine on over night (I know its naughty and uses needless power) so that I can easily pick up where I have left off but I have found that when I come back to it my IP address has changed?

Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?
Unforunately my IP address is "Static" but even most "Dynamic" ISPs have longer lease times on their lines.

    That could be quite useful;)
It's nice to be nice .....
You HAVE checked google before asking, haven't you?;)
If you use the "search this thread" button at the top of the page, you may find it's been answered already!;)

I am with TalkTalk (Car phone Warehouse). Having a changing ISP address didn't stop me getting banned with Couponnet though and I have been through your very good instructions for getting back up and running again but to no avail. Just hope that we get unblocked come November but then Pigs Might Fly!
