exactly....so if the IP was blocked, the next PC wouldn't print either, which makes me think they put an IP-blocking-glitch ON THE PC, and not block it from their end:confused:.
    No doubt time will tell:beer:

Hi, I think there is possibly a glitch put into the PC (in the couponnet registry) to say that the IP has printed "too many".
Obviously, if the computer used a different IP, the glitch wouldn't come into effect.
It looks like there are now (probably) several ways that couponnet are trying to block what they see as unfair usage.
As frequently as we get computers running, they close them back down again!
The Robinsons fiasco and the Warburtons flaw, with all of us discussing it openly, has probably highlighted to couponnet (and their clients!) the amount of "abuse" that is going on from a relatively few number of people.
Those playing by the rules have largely been unaffected.:T

Cheers Vc, as informative as ever....Was thinking of changing service providers in a couple of months, but if the glitch is in my PC, I doubt very much that changing providers wouldn't help either....does changing provider change IP address?

yes....and some dial up providers, give you a new IP every time you reconnect.:D
If you check their details, static means the IP stays the same.....dynamic means it changes....you then need to find out about the "lease" time for them....basically, it tells you how often the IP will change, or more importantly how long it will stay the same;), even if you power everything off.
eg Virgin is meant to be 8 days, if the router is off for all that time....but it doesn't always seem to work.
Most ISP's have forums where you can get quite a bit of info:beer:

Is this actually legal? Not techie as you all know and prob reading this wrong, but to me it seems what couponnet are doing to our computers is a kinda hacking and putting a kinda virus of some sort in
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

A quick recant of what I've tried follows....Doesn't clarify anything to me though

Took a brand new hard disk. Restored my ghost backup from Dec 2008 which had never seen couponnet etc. restored it to 'Virgin' disk and even tried spoofing the mac addy of the network card all before logging onto couponnet but still no go! All other laptops in house still work fine via wireless, main PC above is only one hardwired into router....So don't think it's only mac related either, but I have noticed that it is saying Google Analylictics when trying to communicate so maybe they are looking at some other piece of local hardware???:confused:
:p:p Have a good [STRIKE]Tesc[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Asd[/STRIKE]WHO? day - Err....I still wish Mozzies had a better website even though they are now on MyS! :p:p :rotfl:;)

It's no different to the way they have been stopping us from printing more than one (erm maybe 2 if it didn't print;)) in the past. I'm sure if any of us could be bothered reading their terms and conditions when we download their software onto the PC it will tell us how they can do what they like to "protect their coupons" or something similar:rolleyes:
