As mentioned, you should just stay with the winning bidder as per what ebay says, e-mail the buyer back and say the problem is sorted and ask them to pay again.

As mentioned if this person paid for the other pair of shoes, just make sure they are tracked etc.

You haven't done anything wrong, ignore this idiot.

You not considered that they forgot to bid and are now trying to scare you into still selling to them, don't let them win. I would send a polite FU message and leave it at that.

have you asked her to send you on the e-mail she got from eBay confirming her bid? maybe she bid £50 on the ones that she won and not the other pair? very strange to me.

Send the shoes to the winner and inform the person who came in second that your sorry she didnt win but if she has a problem she should take it up with ebay

The winner shouldnt lose out just because you have an idiot emailing you

Are you saying you have refunded the legitimate buyer? Why?
    Makes no sense to me.
what will you do with the shoes now?

From my understanding she didnt cancel the bid for the bidder of the first pair of shoes (that the second bidder wanted but didnt win)

but she refunded the payment from the second bidder for the other pair of shoes that she won, because she doesn't want to deal with her, because she sounds strange.

I'm not sure if that is the right thing to do though,as she will probably neg you.
  • So you cancel the sale to the legitimate winner because of some loon who didn't win?

No wonder ebay is a mecca for scammers.

No . OP has refunded both buyers including the legitimate winner of the shoes in dispute.

This is just crazy, has she found out the shoes are made of gold???

Perhaps you can request her to speak to the winning bid, perhaps she doesn't mind losing out on the shoes (we've all had buyers remorse) - careful how you phrase it though.

To save yourself a bit of *rse-ache and worry, perhaps you could search the web and find her a couple of alternatives to buy?

Not of course that you have to do any of the above, but if you are concerned perhaps taking 5 minutes out to pacify her might help you in the long run?

EDIT: Sorry, just noticed that you've taken a different action... GL.
    I love surprises!

I do wonder why people ask for advice when they clearly have no intention of absorbing it. There is some very good advice offered in this thread, people offer their advice because you asked for it.

My OH has told me I should refund the legitimate buyer, explaining the situation. I have done this, but I'm really not happy doing it, as she won the auction and it's not her fault someone's trying it on.

I also refunded the shoes the dodgy buyer paid for as I have no desire to deal with her if she kicks off like this.
