Footiemad, I just want you to confirm that Norton Finance Uk Limited who arranged the loan and PPI with also had this address as same addy coming up on FSA register.

    Hi all,

I have also started a claim against Norton Finance recently who were the broker for Endeavour Personal Finance.

Now this is probably a very stupid question which follows but looking at the info provided above does this mean that Norton Insurance Services Ltd were only regulated on 31/10/2004. If so I assume this means I'll have no luck with the FOS as my loan was taken out in Oct 2002.

    Any advice gratefully received.

    Hi there.

In your case I would ring the FOS to check on this, many have said that the FOS are considering taking on older cases if not resolved through the bank/business themselves, give them a call and ask, see what they say, good luck.;)

They could have been members of the GISC before this so you need to ask the FOS. I will try and find out for you in the meantime but ring FOS and ask.

    Thanks marshallka.

I've had a successful complaint against MBNA regarding PPI but that was pretty straight forward (although still a long drawn out process). In comparison this one looks like it will be very complicated, however I can't & won't allow myself to give up as this was a loan for 58k & the PPI was just under 9k as a single payment. When you know you were mis-sold its frustrating & having received the response to my SAR request today I have seen that the agent was paid nearly 3K in commission for making me take that policy. Obviously I would have walked away if I hadn't been in such a desperate position at that time.

Hope the FOS will be able to help Geoff.
    Fingers crossed.;)

    Thanks Di3004,

I have just been onto the FOS & they said that Norton Insurance Services Ltd were regulated by GISC in 2002 so they can progress my complaint once I get the final response (which will no doubt be a get stuffed reply).

Thanks for that, I shall let you know how I get on.

Sorry, just one final question! Should my initial complaint be directed to Norton Finance (obviously as the broker I used) or do I send the letter to Norton Insurance Services Ltd??

I ask because if I direct it to Norton Finance I'm worried that the FOS will say I need to send it to Norton Insurance because thats who I'm using to complain about.

Hi Geoff, it would be the broker and not the actual insurer you write to.;)
