That's good news AC - hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer!
My own complaint is finally (hopefully) drawing to a conclusion - I spoke to the FOS yesterday who said that despite Norton's previous reluctance to comply with the final decision of an ombudsman at the FOS (this was the second ruling in my favour after the adjudicator's decision was ignored by Norton), Norton are now in receipt of the figures they needed from my lender to calculate the refund.
One bit of interesting info she passed on was that the FOS were yesterday meeting to discuss the way Norton are delaying payouts generally on mis-sold PPI complaints that have been upheld. My own complaint (upheld originally last November, then again by an ombudsman in April) was one which was going to be discussed..........apparently the FOS are not happy with the way Norton have been handling these issues.
Hopefully this may mean everyone's complaints will be resolved a bit quicker in future....................

And lots I bet are not happy with the way that FOS turned away Norton complaints in the first place. Even complaints like ANY CHANCES, which was sold in May 2005 so after regulations took place, was turned away by FOS saying "not within our jurisdiction". They ARE within jurisdiction though and they have a Principal beingliberty_lily wrote: »That's good news AC - hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer!

Norton Insurance services limited- FSA FIRM REF NUMBER 306090 31/10/2004
FOS should have known this and checked this also. People have been misled and I would be going mad at this if my complaint had not been solved and turned away through "mistake" and I would ask them to put it front of the queue for this also.
Norton cannot run from this one. They have to face the music like all the other firms that missold PPI. Perhaps they are in line for a large fine by the FSA or at least "should" be.
Well done to your winning also.0 -
Yes, I wholeheartedly agree Marshallka - the FOS have been pretty useless regarding alot of peoples' claims...........in my own case I have been trying to obtain some kind of guidance from them since the second upholding of my complaint.
All I wanted was some indication of how long they deemed it 'reasonable and acceptable' (the words of my previous case-handler at the FOS) to let Norton string me along without actually complying with the FOS legally binding final decision.
Instead of this they have until now fobbed me off and appeared to be accepting all of Norton excuses - the latest of which was that the person at my former lender who was supposed to be providing the info to Norton to enable them to calculate the refund was on holiday - seeing that the lender has been supposedly dealing with this since early May, they must have very long holidays there
It's only now that the person who was dealing with my case at the FOS has left and been replaced by a more diligent person that I seem to be getting some support and guidance from them.
Hopefully this will continue and be reflected in other complaints against Norton also!

Thats interesting LL that they are having a meeting re Norton lets hope they give them a big fine and decide not to take any more of their Bull!!
If they do hopefully we will get our money back quicker and if they dont give the money back then it will be good ammunition in court.
Did you get any mention of compensation from FOS?
In the recent letter i got from ombudsman it also mentioned that Norton were complaining about having to pay compensation! (probably due to the time scale) the ombudsman said since the complaint was not even upheld yet he/she could not comment!“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -

Hi AC
I'm still keeping everything crossed for you and hope you won't have to wait very much longer - I know it's easy to say, but I know you will get there in the end!
