FOS confusing the issue re the April 07 thing - this was the date FOS took jursidiction over CCA (Consumer Credit) complaints. FOS have kinda missed the point and should investigate this under compulsory jurisidiction as PPI sale by Norton. With the PPI complaint volumes they are facing probably no surprise they're messing up a few .... keep at it.

ANYONE CLAIMING AGAINST NORTON NEEDS TO MAKE IT PLAIN (IF AFTER JAN 2005) THAT THEIR POLICY WAS SOLD BY NORTON FINANCE BUT THEIR PRINCIPLES ARE ACTUALLY NORTON INSURANCE SERVICES LIMITED AND THAT IS WHO THE COMPLAINT WOULD BE AGAINST.

    SORRY FOR SHOUTING HERE.

The person I was on about resubmitted and FOS took the complaint on. If I were you i would get back to FOS about the missale and also tell them they made the mistake of not taking it on.

this is very helpful and in this light i think i should send in my complaint to attatch to the one of rebate. My worry is that it will slow my complaint but then i have managed for this long. Worst case senario i get the 50% rebate??

Ps sorry for poor spelling will check later lol

Thats naughty of FOS to have sent back my first complaint and the effect of not having the money refunded is huge

Any Chance, your complaint is OK for the full wack back and I would make a complaint to FOS that they missed this some time back. YOU WILL WIN so I would forget the rebate one and get on with the missell. It was FOS'S mistake and they owe you to take this back to when they said they could not look into this. I would certainly get back to whoever is looking into the rebate issues and make sure you speak to a manager. Make it plain that you were misled by all firms and then the FOS did not pick up on this either. You should go to the front of the queue or at least where you are at now.
I so want you to win now.

Its everyone with Norton that make this mistake. I think its actually firstplus sending them to the appointed reps instead of the actual principles and then FOS does not have the Appointed reps on their books and dismiss's them. It is naughty but you should get this sorted soon.

Norton Finance were appointed reps of Norton Insurance limited and they were their principals so what you need to do is find out if Norton Insurance Services Limited were members of the GISC at the time of your loan and there is your claim if they were. I don't know if the FOS will take the complaint against FP as Norton actually sold you the policy so that is another option but you first need to try against the seller. Do make it plain to FOS that it is Norton Insurance Services limited that you are enquiring about and not Norton Finance and give them the exact date of the loan. When you find this out it would be helpful if you could post it here for other Norton claimers too.
