Hope it all goes okay with the MW skinty.

I know its not the same but I worried when they said that my baby was measuring average for all measurements except for her legs that went off the scale. I began to worry I might give birth to a freaky daddy long legs type creature!!

I would order the cot from the cheapest retailer but call them first just to make sure they will definately have the stock in 7-10 days. It will be something to look forward to. Don't panic!!

Triggles - no they won't :( Man wasn;t very helpful at all.

Tia - thanks that does make me feel better.

Mooki - i probably will. I called BabyPlanet and asked them to double check when they expect stock, once I explained why he was really nice so hopefully will call back.

I know it's partly hormones but I do feel like I am doing this all on my own and it is really stressing me out. I keep crying and as I have a history of depression I'm quite worried about getting PND - my mum did when she had me and went into hospital as a result where they gave her electric shocks to her brain :( I don;t think they do that much any more but it worries me that I feel so down.

Aww Skinty, big hugs to you! Every pregnancy is different and as you know there is no right or wrong answer. Your bump is your bump and I'm sure it's in perfect proportion for you and your baby :) Please try not to worry.

Can you tell us which one you want so we can have a look on the internet for you to see if there are any cheaper ones? If it were me i would return all to boots as a mattress without a cot is not "fit for purpose" imho.

Try not to worry about size - everyone is different - hope mw can provide you with further reassurance later :grouphug:

Can you just do the basics if you feel well enough and if your oh complains tell him to do it himself - you wont have the stress of having to nag him then. I had to do this before but oh is quite good now and just gets on with things.

skinty you will be fine and will be a great mum:D PND can be treated in a number of ways but electric shock i have never heard of that! your poor mum!

everyone feels down the last few weeks as i think you realise that there is a baby coming and you are just exhausted from growing and carrying the baby around! why not do something to cheer yourself up? get your nails done, go to pics. i done this and it was great some chill out me time and i felt loads better!

Hi skinty, as you have probably seen from previous posts my depression is back after having about 4 months of feeling great. Please make sure you speak to your midwife about how you are feeling. I have done and am now in touch with a specialist midwife who is trained in ante-natal and post-natal depression. She has been a great support. There are people to help us out there it is just so hard to ask for help.

As for the cot, we ordered a new one off an ebay shop with sprung mattress on Friday, it was delivered yesterday and cost £130.00 including delivery.

I'm too scared to tell her. WHat if they won;t let me have a homebirth? What if they make me take drugs that might harm the baby? I can;t tell her. Normally I would get help but I just am too scared in case they take the baby away. I was taken away for a few weeks when I was little and it ruined my relationship with my family even though I don;t have actual memories of it. I can;t do that to my baby.

The cot is the Cosatto Close To Me and the mattress I found that matches is £40 - the one from Boots is a different make and is £80!

I think £184 is the cheapest for that cot.

Just a thought, my mum was 7 months pregnant with my little brother when she found out. He was her 'menopause' as there is 12 years between us and she was in her 40s by then. She only went for blood tests as they thought she has irritable bowel syndrome or a kidney problem. Now she had had 2 kids before him and had always had bumps before but she didnt show throughout this pregnancy at all. My little bro was born 2 weeks early weighing 6.5 lbs. If she hadnt had the blood tests she may never have known until he popped out!!! Again, it was to do with the way that he was lieing and the fact that in the 12 yrs before he was born my mum had been going swimming every day and had really tightened her tummy muscles.
