Favourite sayings "I don't like it". "It' not for me" and "If it were my ....baby...etc and "If i were you i'd...."
If she was me she'd know what its like to do a days work, see to a five year old, a OH and fit in some cleaning and cooking and food shopping if poss. And not spend all day "Obsessively" cleaning and boredom shopping.
Mine'd be the one to point out I'd missed a bit when we'd finally got some time together to paint a room around everything else we do - well you can be a perfectionist when you've got b*gger all else to do! They also outstay their welcome when they come round (this weekend - aaargh!) because they have no sense of the fact that we have work the next day and might actually want some down time beforehand. I am dreading the father's day visit this sunday. Have told my dad and sis to be v unsubtle when leaving to encourage them to leave too:D

Thanks ladies
Glam i am dental surgery Manager but do all the reception work as well because the pct cut our budget so much in the last few years we had to make major cut back on staff. I wont let him bully me in into taking less time than i want or need and he knows that. It's just a lot to think about but thanks for all the advice. Also I seem to have got hayfever today for the 1st time in ages and my nose looks so lush bright red at the moment. So off to the chemist to see what i can take if anything and also pick up some trust for my other halfs smelly feet as it works a treat :TDarling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j0 -
Oh, forgot to mention that my bump band is working out well. The black one is best - for some reason a bit smaller than the white one I got although they are supposedly the same size, black works well with most of my clothes. It holds my trousers up even without the zip done up and hides all the evidence

ML - I really feel for you with your MIL. My MIL is lovely. We see her about once a week/fortnight, and she is extremely aware of interfering too much as her own MIL is a bit of a burden. She has views etc that I don't agree with, but she respects others too so that's fine.
It's definitely my own mum that I have a problem with. In her mind she is only stating her opinion, but she is actually trying to ram it down my throat and call me stupid/uncaring if I don't agree with her. I don't even disagree that in an ideal world, I would spend longer at home with baby etc, but it's the lack of respect that she gives me and she is totally out of touch with reality! She doesn't even hear anything other people say. But I know she doesn't mean it either, so it's difficult!
My mum and dad are coming for dinner on Sunday and I am dreading that too as we will be arguing/I will be biting my lip within the hour!
Oooh, I could rant for hours when I get started on this...0 -
Using patient line iernet but its so crap. mouse doesnt work right on the tiny keypad and it takes ages to type anything. just had first dose of lobitalol and still waiting on medics. cant go to the shop till they have been incase i miss them. and hospital food has given me killer heartburn!

lou - i do a v different job but am in similar positionwith boss putting me under pressure about ML, mainly because he doesn't like the thought of my not being around. In a funny way, he's trying to tell me that he values me and I don't need to worry about my career  The pressure doesn't help though I know! I guess I just need to 'manage upwards'
workinmummy - believe me it'll have to be unsubtle to get it through their skulls! " We should ALL really leave you in peace now, SHOULDN'T WE? I'm sure you have A LOT going on next week cough cough"MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!
