  • Fitzio - we'll all have to come and escape on here if it's too much (oh am feeling v tired suddenly, must be the baby, am just going for a quick lie down!)

To make matters worse, my dad's bringing his partner, who is a nice person but a total fusser, so my patience will be tried on all fronts. Thank god dad and sis are there! In fact they all mean well, so I can't really complain too much, but a visit is a real trial of endurance! If I can get them in and out in 5-6 hours that will be a victory. I did go and have a nap last time (a real nap though they were driving me nuts too. they'd gone when I woke up!) and am not afraid to use the Cub as an excuse if I need to!

I'm here but not in a good mood!!

Whilst I work for NHS it's General Practice so could be different.

MrsTine originally said about the bank holiday thing, I'll see if I can dig out the information later on. It may depend on your employer and also whether your annual leave includes bank holiday or is PLUS bank holidays. My work haven't queried it but they are pretty clueless!!

TUPE - you should get exactly the same terms and conditions for a set period - normally two years I think. So any benefits, pay freezes etc would still apply if you were TUPE'd recently. I'm not an expert though!

Very upset now - OH's manager has rang him about meeting tomorrow but as a heads up have said that he'll probably not have the job next season (he sort of works on a consultancy basis ). So could be out of work. I'm really annoyed because I know that the firm he works in are taking on someone to do the job that he's been doing for the 3 years just not him, it'll be someone's mate - jobs for the boys. He's been trying to line something else up just in case but that could also be falling through due to lack of funds.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Good idea ML! Just start yawning etc and say you need a lie down. That is a good idea. 5-6 hours is plenty! I will tell my parents to come around 5pm, then hopefully they will leave by about 9pm. We have no carpets at the minute and a newly plastered ceiling so it's not the most comfortable surroundings. I doubt my mum will want to stay too long anyway.

Hugs Glam. What does your OH do? Is it difficult to get another job in his line of work at the moment? As Aless said, the wages might not be the best, but in this climate I am glad both OH and I work for public sector.

Oh, forgot to mention that my bump band is working out well. The black one is best - for some reason a bit smaller than the white one I got although they are supposedly the same size, black works well with most of my clothes. It holds my trousers up even without the zip done up and hides all the evidence ;)

Thats funny cos Ive got a black one and a white one too, same size, but the white one is smaller than the black! I find that they tend to roll down though.
love my little man he is amazing :j
