Girls - the trick is not to let anyone local know where the good car boots are until you've snapped up your bargains ;) don't want 2 MSE ladies fighting over the same items now do we? :p

Tia - I noticed your post the other day about car boot bargains! I love a car boot and can't wait to go again on Sunday.

I probably shouldn't do this but - check out the car boot bargains thread on MSE! OMG you can see what people have picked up dirt cheap at boot sales and then sold on eBay for a small fortune!
OH picked up a PS1 game and asked me if it was rare - um, yes! Bought for £2 will sell for £20 at least!

I will be doing another car boot in a few weeks to get rid of the stuff I didn't sell first time around and will see what I can pick up ridiculously cheap like 3 DVDs for £1 which I can then sell on for £2 each :D

Congrats on starting mat leave SS!!!

On the subject of baby bargains, I picked up my breast pads for 99p today in Boots. Got two packs of 80, much to OH's embarrassment! I don't care though, saved myself a tidy £6!

To be honest, I've just been getting things as and when I've seen them at a good price. We've got a few nursery bits in bargain corner at Ikea which has saved a fair bit. In-laws bought our pram, but even that was the weekend Mothercare had 20% off so saved us £80. I've also been using Quidco or Topcashback wherever possible and have a decent amount accruing in there which will also go on baby bits.

Thoroughly enjoying my day off, trying not to stress about 20 week scan tomorrow. Have finally started feeling pretty definite kicks the last few days which has calmed me a bit. I have to work tomorrow morning before the scan, but at least that should take my mind off it.

GISI - nothing worse than a later morning or afternoon scan!

Did you get those pads in store or online? Worth me buying them at that price even if I can't BF. Not sure if I said but consultant wrote to me and said that the milk ducts follow the blood supply to the nipple and because the blood supply is fine there should be no problems breast feeding :j

I am waiting for my £70 to clear with Topcashback so I can send it to Paypal account and then get my cot mattress, moses basket mattress and anythign else I want off eBay!

also forgot to say that I have spoken with Manager re KIT days - my choice whether I take them or not so just to let them know as and when. Have agreed how I will be contacted when on leave - I have 2 email accounts I can access from home, one that work will soon be using as my main work email address so will give them personal one to inform me of anything important.

She has also agreed that I can wear leggings even though it's in handbook that we can't! My mat trousers are fine when I stand but awful when I sit - baby been kicking me loads, don;t think he likes them. They are neither under of over bump!

Glam- they were in store. They also had exactly the same ones at full price, but these have the little clearance sticker on.

Lucky you on the leggings front. I am finding leggings and a little dress so comfy at the moment.

My mananager had never heard of KIT days. I'm hoping to use a few for monthly management meetings as these would really help me stay in touch with what's new, and then just a few as and when on days when hubby is home to look after baby. No idea what I will get paid for them, is it fairly standard to get your usual wage? If so that would top my SMP up quite nicely if I use one a month, and don't have to pay out for childcare.

and another thing I forgot to say............................

my manager went through my risk assessment and said that I shouldn't use the photocopier. I hadnt heard this before but she read somewhere that pregnant staff should not be using a photocopier

put in bold for those that skim!

    I think that's it now - honest :o
