Home evaluation doesn't count - this is NOT for home users.

The TechNet T&Cs DOES NOT forbid evaluation in a home/personal enviroment, it is perfectly legal for anyone to buy a subscription and then test every single version of OS, or say try out Windows "Home" Server.
Then buy a full licence once you have decided exactly what software you need.

Oh as a side note I found (while reading the T&Cs) you can't use a technet subscription for development perposes either, you need a MSDN sub =(

Well, at least I have the ISOs. I only downloaded ISOs of software I already have a legitimate key for, so I have some good backups with the latest service packs included.

Keys or no keys, it was useful to me.

I suggest "fill your boots" might be a good idea, as I can imagine the closed sign will return soon enough.

"filling your boots" will be the quickest way to get it shut down again and also be the quickest way to get microsoft sniffing around you.

one guy apparently generated 300 keys yesterday which is bloody absurd.

they're re-activating and de-activing accounts all over the place at the moment so there's no real rhyme or reason to it.
