i wonder if anyone will download it ?0 -
So if we download anything and install it, will it be ok? I'm downloading something at the moment, but if it's illegal I will remove it immediately. I just want to make sure

Do you fit in the licence terms for Tech Net? Will you remove the software after 3 months?
If it's no to either of those, then it's not legal, regardless of how it was obtained.0 -

Anyone found out if this a balls up by MS? News, forum posts etc. proving this?0
-
apparently microsoft aren't commenting which does appear to be unusual and does certainly appear to suggest that someone has screwed up.
But then if that was the case, why not just shut down the technet site as soon as the error became evident ?
It could well be that they somewhat naively decided to offer the subscription for free to the first X amount of people who signed up and it's backfired a bit.
And they must realise, as i've said, that the majority of people who are going to download stuff are going to keep it for personal use.0 -
I'd say the whole thing has been pulled now, since it no longer seems possible to sign up. Apparently, from what I've read on some forums, it isn't a screw up by Microsoft. However, at some time or other, Microsoft were offering this subscription for doing a survey, however someone posted the links after they completed the survey, meaning it was available to everyone!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0
