Mine get changed about once every three weeks or so. It's sometimes longer and then it becomes "when they smell". Maybe it's because I live in a smallish flat and so everything has to be dried indoors on an airer, or maybe it's because DH and I are both lazy (probably the latter:)).

Although I'm a 40-something english person, who grew up with a very "house-proud" mother, I will never understand the western obsession with over-cleanliness. I've read posts on forums where people change their bath towels every day! This is in a part of the world where they also use a tumble drier to dry all their washing. I just find that waste of resources obscene.

I do love getting into a fresh bed, but I hate the process of getting it that way, so once every three weeks or so is a good compromise for me.

Then my winter one is washed (at local industrial cleaners) before it goes on the bed, end of Sept, then just before christmas, and finally before its packed away for summer. Pillows are washed every month. I must say I am a bit ocd about my bed/bed linen :rotfl:

Why do you have your winter duvet washed both before and after you pack it away?

I'm another obsessive I'm afraid. Once a week normally, more if it's hot.
When I lived in Barcelona, I had the priviledge of having a flat with a balcony so between June and September, I washed my sheets every two days or so (It was 40 degrees in August!) and they dried outside in around 20 minutes.

I now find the Snowdonia National Park somewhat cooler and thus can be a little more lazy!

I strip all our beds every friday and wash them all on a 60. As for clothes we wear everything once. Its also one use for face cloths and towels too. I wash about 8/9 face cloths everyday. i must really stop it.

We wash our bedlinen every week (although as we've got one child out of nappies his is sometimes washed MUCH more frequently). We do washing every day - on an economy wash if needed but then there are 5 of us.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

I wash bedding once a week, and flannels/hand towels last a day before going in the wash. There's nothing like getting into a fresh, clean (unironed) bed :) Even nicer if its ironed but that's not going to happen in this house!

I change our bed on a Friday and again on a tuesday....... I love getting into nice fresh sheets :D
I do have quite a few sets of bedding -so I dry them outside when I can, if not they go on the airer in the basement -then I fold them and drop each set over a coat hanger (no need to iron then;))

I change the sheets on my bed every week. It's a king-size bed (actually bigger than that, because it's a North American king-size) but I've a huge washing-machine so I can easily fit in my own top and bottom sheets plus pillowcases, and more. The duvet-cover is washed when I feel it needs it - might be because it's dirty, might be because I take a notion to wash it.

For the kids' beds, I change the pillowcases weekly, but not all the sheets - I change the sheets from half of the kids' beds one week, then the other half the next - this is mainly because I don't have twice as many single bed sheets as I have single beds to change LOL.

Well, I say, "I change..." but what I mean is "I get the kids to change..."

The kids also know they are free to change their own sheets any time they want. They rarely do it apart from usual sheet-changing routine, but if a teenage boy, for example, felt his sheets needed changing more frequently, then at least that could be done without it being remarked on, if you see what I mean ;-)
