I do listen to a great deal of radio phone ins, and there is defiantly a "type" from Glasgow, almost like slightly watered down versions of George Galaway , all full of anger and rage, very socialist. Horrible backwards men. Yuk yuk yuk!
If we want to stereotype there are the 'types' you refer to everywhere, Scotland, England, America, etc etc.
Please don't assume all backwards men live in the Glasgow area as I have seen/heard them elsewhere too!

    Do you ken Ken?
When asking Ken if he knows your other friend Ken it may go along the lines of... Ken Ken Ken ?

haha, i used to live in Aberdeenshire (near The Broch). Now i live in Orkney - for a while i did wonder why there's a section in the local paper called 'Kent Faces' :o

i absolutely love Scotland, but only know the North-East and Orkney (which isn't really Scotland ;))
You have impecable taste there ;).

I don't want to know what Scotland is like, still suffering from the cold in Yorkshire which is Northern enough for me.

    Wheel clamping is illegal
There are barely any motorways in Scotland, lots of A road 2 lanes, but hardly any 3 laned motorways.
In Scotland you sit your GCSE's at 15 and Highers at 16 (I certainly did) as opposed to 16 and 18 in England
You can get married without parental consent in Scotland at 16 as opposed to 18 south of the border
Not in a racial way but there are a lot less foreigners.
Water is of a better quality
Ive never really noticed that Scotland is perceived to be colder. Its just as cold here as it was in N.Yorks where i spent a considerable amount of time.

To be honest, Brits are Brits and you get the same kind of types both north and south of the borderline.

You will probably not notice any real difference.

My sister moved from England to Scotland 3 years ago, she loves it and plans to stay there for the foreseeable future.

As has already been said the Education system is different, as is the date you start school. In England it's the September after your 4th birthday, in Scotland the "cut off date" for the school year is March. It caught my niece out because her birthday is 5th March so she had to repeat a year when she moved to Scotland and didn't start High School until she was 12. It's also affects my niece and Nephew, they are both 11 but as niece's birthday is in Jan she will start high school this August, nephew's birthday is May so he won't start until next August.

Sis lives in North West Scotland and I've never been cold there, in fact it's usually baking hot whenever I go and visit her.

Oh and the prescriptions in Scotland are pink not green lol

    Good things:
Some of my fave driving roads are in scotland.
The English/Scottish banter in pubs is great (helps if your not overly sensitive and you can hold your own)
The Scottish Breakfast is the best in the world, a thing to behold.
Stunning landscapes and Wildlife, and no am not talking about the wildlife in drumchapel.
The Scottish NHS has funded most of my projects :)
    My Oh

Bad things: I cannot find a decent curry house in Glasgow, despite repeated attempts.

Is the Shish Mahal in Gibson Street not there anymore?
