This may be of interest to those of you either suffering from or concerned about the risk of cancer... I read it this morning in the Ecologist and thought I'd share it with you.

Thanks greenbee looks interesting....I'm open to any suggestions at the moment.

Wow Greenbee your steps totals are impressive!!!! I'd like a proper pedometer. The ones I've picked up have been freebies, and therefore not at all accurate.

Wow Greenbee your steps totals are impressive!!!! I'd like a proper pedometer. The ones I've picked up have been freebies, and therefore not at all accurate.

The ones we've been given aren't that accurate (they're more sensitive than my proper one :D) and they only measure steps. I've got one that I used for my moonwalk training last year, which you can put your stride length and weight into, and it'll then tell you the distance you've travelled and how many calories you've burned! I also have a heart rate monitor which I use in the gym to make sure I'm working hard enough, but when I was training outside I used the watch to check calories etc - and then went with whichever was higher - the pedometer or the monitor :o

Pedometers aren't that expensive, and well worth trying if you want to get your general activity levels up. Try this one. If you want to join my efforts to lose a stone by 11th July , feel free to post your own step count too!

Morning all! Tis quite sunny here and I have washing nearly ready to go out and I've done the bathroom! And its only half 9!!

soappie, greenbee and sexymouse - I don't have walking boots, just trainers, is that ok? And I will warn you, if it's muddy, I will be walking very slowly as I still get freaked out by the idea of slipping in mud! Hope that's ok - if you think I'll be a hindrance, I can just meet you at the pub later

AnW and A and W - huge hugs and prayers for you today; I do understand how difficult it is, but you are wonderful and strong and will make it through xx

greenbee - errmm, 'normal' people  And, sorry, my printer is refusing to work at the moment!

Am going to quickly update my list, then get myself sorted!

Where in Suffolk are you? There is also a new patchwork and quilting shop opened in Walton [ which is between the Trimleys and Felixstowe]. I am hoping to pop into that as well
