soappie, greenbee and sexymouse - I don't have walking boots, just trainers, is that ok? And I will warn you, if it's muddy, I will be walking very slowly as I still get freaked out by the idea of slipping in mud! Hope that's ok - if you think I'll be a hindrance, I can just meet you at the pub later.

Trainers will be fine - we're not doing a route march, just getting some fresh air, and spending some time in the countryside to restore our mental balance after a stressful week! It's unlikely to be that muddy after a dry week, and in any case, I have walking poles :D

    Morning all

I've got a corker of a headache, probably due to poor sleep due to two visits from DS3 and one from a rather damp mog in the night.

I feel the flying has actually been plodding this week, hope to get a bit more done today.

OH at football with DS3 but I need to go and take over at 11 so he can then move on to take DS2 to his foootball (both tournaments for those in the know).

AnW's mum - not on your own today, we're all with you! Love the way dusty put it.

Ladies who walk - have a lovely time - if I were a bit nearer, I'd join you! I really want to go to Mottisfont.

Still grey and damp here, and I'm still the only one up. DS1 was out celebrating a friend's birthday - and the end of exams, so very little chance of seeing him before this afternoon! DS2 still recovering from Wales trip - and DD doesn't do mornings!

I've already done a load of washing, and the towels are tumbling, so I think I'll change and go to the allotment.

The ones we've been given aren't that accurate (they're more sensitive than my proper one :D) and they only measure steps. I've got one that I used for my moonwalk training last year, which you can put your stride length and weight into, and it'll then tell you the distance you've travelled and how many calories you've burned! I also have a heart rate monitor which I use in the gym to make sure I'm working hard enough, but when I was training outside I used the watch to check calories etc - and then went with whichever was higher - the pedometer or the monitor :o

Pedometers aren't that expensive, and well worth trying if you want to get your general activity levels up. Try this one. If you want to join my efforts to lose a stone by 11th July , feel free to post your own step count too!

Thanks for that greenbee. Spooky, Sarah, I was going to ask greenbee about her steps. I've got a wee freeby which is rubbish. The reset button is quite big and I keep knocking against it and going back to nothing. I did 520 steps yesterday

Mum, Dad and I are aiming to lose weight for my brothers wedding (5 July) and trying to do 10,000 steps a day. I had to laugh at my Mum. She was saying to me that she was struggling to make her target steps. I asked her how many she had done, she had done just over 13,000!!! She thought we were aiming for 30,000 :rotfl:She'll definately make 10,000 a day, but I'm doing well to do 5,000.

Well, I suppose I better get on with my washing and ironing. Then I might look at my list
