Good luck with the run
And all the other proactive stuff - hope the elbow is better though
Just wrote a massive reply ad then pressed the wrong button. DAMN IT!
OK long story short.
Got admitted to a&e last night with horrific abdo pains. Had to call an ambulance and everything.
Dr's thought i had appendicitis or something with my ovary
Felt awful though, regur'ed a tablet they gave me, had to go on a drip because my bp was so low. all at 2am! Poor DH had to come with me and was just as wrecked as I was.
Surgical team decided it wasnt my appendix, and just said to go home, take painkillers and if it got worse to come back.
Actual a&e doc was going to send me for an ultrasound but that wouldnt happen till the morning.
They think it may have been a cyst on my ovary which burst.... apparently thats harmless but im a bit peeved that noone could actually tell me what it was, and one of the nurses was a bit patronising, constantly asking me if i was sure it wasnt just period pain.
Did point out to her that I had a m/c last year and that I think I would know what menstrual cramp etc felt like!!!
So DH had to call my boss who he says didnt sound too happy, and I hate letting people down but we didnt get home till 6am, they took 4 lots of blood and i just dont think i could have physically done it.....so hopefully he's not too mad at me and i'll explain it all tomorrow, so being very lazy today, and only got out of bed about an hour ago....
Add my elbow to all that and basically I am mashed......:oWealth is not measured by currency0 -
You poor thing. I am so sorry to hear that.
You know what though, f*** your boss though. He is beginning to sound like a right d***. I thought he was supposed to be into being healthy etc etc.You were obviously in a lot of pain and how could you have gone into work today.
You aren't letting anyone down at all. You need to look after your own health first and foremost.
Big hug to you and hope your DH minds you tonight.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

thanks hun...
im not entirely sure what my boss was like as DH has habit of interpreting most conversations from a negative point of view, especially when it comes to my boss, there is a bit of a block between those two....
He'll probably be really understanding, as he normally is with me, and he knows that even after sitting in a&e for 5 hours last week with my elbow I still went to work, and did the whole day....
It possibly also didnt help that DH phoned him at 4am! lolWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Ha ha! The 4am call might have something to do with it! Maybe your OH did interpret it the wrong way. I'm sure your boss will be fine. There is no way you could have made it in.
Do you have to go back for a follow up check up? You poor thing, you have been in the wars lately.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

hey all,
had a bit of a snooze after lunch but the feeling is back, not as full on as last night but darn uncomfortable.....
Saving hun what happened with your boss? what options is she considering.
I think i need to put something together ready for when i have my review, i havent done the job i was employed to do but I also think I know why, so it would be good to have it all down on paper, and ideally avoid crying!!!!
Must be stronger, and better LOL
One of the members of staff has a meeting with our boss on friday, as as manager I attend it, and its all about how he thinks he deserves more money than he's on..... so thats going to be a hard one to call. i like the guy, but hes not doing enough to warrant that price tag.....
I mean I'd love to ask for more money and about 4 weeks ago i thought i was worth it, with how things have been lately though, i dont think im right to ask for it.
Although its written into my contract that i would get a 1k rise after 3 months so thats something....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hi CAFC,
Just wondering why you think you haven't bee doing the job you were meant to? I think you are too hard on yourself. You come across as very intelligent and very motivated.
I wouldn't worry about your DH not seeing eye to eye with your boss. He prob won't ever have to see him that often! Did he give you a reason why he doesn't like him?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

DH got narked one day when i was 30 mins late finishing work because he thinks i work too many hours for not enough pay..... theyre sort of ok with each other, my boss doesnt have a problem with DH, in fact he really likes him, is always asking if he wants to do stuff etc. DH just takes a little while to get over his grudges....
In terms of work, ive made a lot of silly basic mistakes and have found it a real challenge trying to manage all the personality types, and I lose track of everything im meant to do in a day and by what time and literally feel like i run out of time in the day to get it all done.
Most frustratingly is the fact that before 2 new people started, i was kicking butt and doing 3 peoples jobs and could manage that fine, but now it feels like its gone to pot, and because of that, i become so conscious of making mistakes, that i inevitably make more.....
I know im hard on myself but its just because i know i can do it, and was capable so its like why the hell cant I do it now?!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
It sounds like you have lost your way a bit. Is there time for you to get the team to fill in the Belbin's team types questionnaire? I found it very useful in my last job as it helped me to figure out where other people where coming from.
Also, is there a training budget, and if so, could you do a time management course? Your boss should be helping you to identify areas for improvement and also what support you need. If you boss is a good manager, you should leave the review full of enthusiasm, not feeling down and inadequate.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
