So just diluted Stardrops in a spray bottle thing should be OK if I wipe the surfaces with hot water aswel? Will this be the same for the bathroom? I was going to just clean tiles, bath etc with Stardrops solution and then throw some bleach around the toilet...
I know we need some bacteria and stuff, but had a bad case of food poisoning once from a friends student house not being properly clean and it's made me slightly paranoid because it was NOT nice!! lol.
Thanks for all the replies though0 -
Zoflora (made by the same people as Stardrops) is a disinfectant. You can make up a mixture in a spray bottle and use as an antibacterial spray. You can just wipe it off (no rinsing) if it is diluted with water.
I called the customer service number on the box to make sure it was okay and they said it would be fine to leave in a spray bottle for a few months -longer than that and it might lose some of it's disinfecting properties.
You only use a tiny bit and it smells lovely. Cheap too.

Ive just read this thread and Im sold on this magic liquid already. I am wodering about the microfibre cloths though? I thought they were to be used dry to polish? Do you use them wet with the stardrops? Off to get some now.....0

I still can't imagine how a cleaning product can inspire such devotion but I spent the day cleaning my flat with Stardrops and microfibre cloths! And feeling like I actually accomplished something. Even washed my car, but not with Stardrops as I wasn't sure if it was ok.
Still not sure how it works with upholstery though? Do you spray a diluted solution and vacuum? Am afraid wiping might smear or ruin the fabric. Anyone tried it? My flat is rented so I don't want to risk smearing my landlady's beige sofa....
Thanks for all the posts though - very helpful!! I picked up the last bottle of Stardrops at Poundstretcher yesterday but will stock up the next time I go back!0 -
The zoflora smells really nice as well, so I would prefer to use that than bleach which always smells so clinical.0

Couldnt get it anywhere in my town even in the local Wilkos so I emailed Wilkos from thier site and they just rang me up. The lady said they do everything by barcode and said for me to go to my local Wilko store and give them this barcode 00804028 which is for concentrated stardrops and they will order it for me. So if anyone else wants to try that give it a go if you are struggling getting anyThanx

According to the back of my Stardrops Concentrate bottle:
"For carpets and upholstery use 3tblsp (45ml) to 500ml of warm water. Spot Test for Colour Fastness and do not over-wet. Rub Briskly and vacuum when dry. Do not use on "velvet" type materials or those unsuitable for wet cleaning."
So I guess do a spot test on the back of the sofa first to see how it comes up before actually tackling the visible bits.
Using a spray bottle to the same ratio (approx. 1 part stardrops:10 parts water) may help to avoid the over-wetting!
Hope this helps and let me know how you get on as I shall soon be challenged by some cream/beige sofas of my own!!
