Hey Gaz1971 if your out their somewhere can you confirm what your so called Co-op Cashminder Visa Debit card's first 4 numbers are - coz i've just tried mine again (which starts with 4508) and it's still a big fat NO, so I want to know why Tesco's accept yours and not the rest of us!!! Or is it just a wind up! And in fact yours is for a different type of co-op account ie a full account!0

and at no time have I been on my "high horse" other posters have answered you saying the same as I did beforehand yet you dont seem to want to attack them....wonder why?
at NO time have I been sarky towards you...just stating a fact (as most of my posts do....some people even thank me for taking the time)
No insults or tantrums thrown here, you should look at your own post. I made a post stating some facts, you stuck your oar in and was the one getting stroppy and did indeed get on your high horse, telling me to read 20 pages of the thread before posting or to shut up, and now more sarcasm from you in the above post, all because I stated a fact that you didnt agree with.
So, for the record, I have a Co Op Visa card, starting 4508 and I have paid for online groceries from Tesco.0 -
Thanks for replying - I'm stumped, either the co-op is being untruthful about exactly whats going on or your telling porkys, or Tesco's are doing something odd! I give in, this is my last post on the subject, Sainsburys,Lidls or Aldi's from now on for me!:mad:0

I dont know whether my card isnt one acting as an Electron or if its Tesco, but I ordered shopping last week and again today and the payment has gone through0 -
The thing is Gaz, you're the only person who's new 'visa' 4508 card isn't still acting like an electron. There's a whole thread about in on the Bank accounts forum too, no-one else can shop a Tesco or the other places electrons aren't accepted:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1668331&page=10
The poster on post 195, only 4 days ago still couldn't order from Tesco's with their new card
So, it's more likely that it's a fluke yours is working when dozens and dozens of other peoples aren't. At the moment everyone but you still has an Electron card disguised as a Visa.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
No insults or tantrums thrown here No only in your Pm's thankfully ...., you should look at your own post I HAVE and you should read the thread from START to FINISH as suggested. I made a post stating some facts funny though as yet unproven because of yet nobody else had been successfull with Tesco etc, you stuck your oar in Oh? i'd just been answering a post as you did..and was the one getting stroppy and did indeed get on your high horse, telling me to read 20 pages of the thread before posting or to shut up again incorrect at no point did I tell you to shut up..., and now more sarcasm from you in the above post, all because I stated a fact that you didnt agree with. again...sadly not correct...your starting to look a little silly now eh?
So, for the record, I have a Co Op Visa card, starting 4508 and I have paid for online groceries from Tesco and as I've said along with others IF that is the case then i'm happy for you & others that this has effected in the past.
Just a few thoughs...but then again what do I know? seeing as I already know it all according to you...funny though you NEVER said that in all your previous posts about me when I took the time to try & help you with various answers to me thats you showing your true colours now...with PM's and responses like that I really wonder why I stay & give up my time here only to have things thrown back in my face time after timeWe all die. Anyone else had an email from coop saying that they are sending you a card reader so that you can use it for online purchases? Plus they also said I would need to use the card reader for some parts of my online banking service too??
this is what I got..........
Banking online is quick, easy and convenient. In addition to this, The Co-operative Bank is making it even more secure because we are introducing a Chip and PIN Card Reader (Card Reader).
The Card Reader is similar to the Chip and PIN machines used in shops and restaurants and like these, it is designed to provide an extra level of protection and security, to help safeguard you against fraud when banking online.
Enhancing your security
The Card Reader is a small, easy-to-use device which works separately from your computer. There are no wires or plugs and you don't need to install any additional software. Always ensure your Card Reader is safe and keep it within easy reach whenever you need to manage your Co-operative Bank account online.
Before you use your Card Reader for the first time you will need to activate it by inserting your debit card into your Card Reader, selecting the identify button, entering your PIN number and pressing OK. This is simply to activate your Card Reader and no transaction will be processed.
You do not have to use your Card Reader for all online banking transactions, but you may need to use it when you want to:- set up or amend standing orders, set up, amend or make bill payments
- set up, amend or make funds transfers.
- log on to our internet banking service in the usual way, insert your debit card into the Card Reader
- follow the on-screen instructions.
