I got a nice surprise today, our local flower shop as put on a lovely display of my cakes for me in her front window yippee...:D i just have to see if we sell any! finger crossed

I can't even think of christmas - eeek!! Although I will HAVE to try out a Xmas cake. Haven't seen any Xmas stuff in (which I am secretly glad of, as it means I will have to start getting organised!!)

Ive begun making my nappy cake, io looked in Mr T's for a cake board and can only see a 10" one?

Does anyone know where i can get a larger cake board? There's no way my bottom tier will be supported by the 10"

heres my latest cake, they are starting to all look the same now, I would love to be able to make them look more different but i'm hampered by my very limited artistic ability lol inside theres baby bottle, vest, sleepsuit, scratch mits, hat, bib, toy, muslin, blanket, 2 pairs of socks and nappies oh n a dummy

heres that other cake i didn't like with some orange ribbon on and the dark blue socks changed, do you think it now looks any better?


I've also made a pink 2 tier with the same toy but not sure about it either


and i thought about a mini cake with muslin, wash cloth, soap, and mini duck/boat bath toy but i was going to make the wascloths and soap into bunnies and use them as toppers but i'm not very happy with how they turned out i don't know if its the eyes or nose or what

What a difference the coloured ribbons have made to the cakes, they look brilliant. I am not sure about the rabbit, having never made one, but should it be slimmer and taller? Not sure!!!

Angelkay, Your blue cake is lovely, and your other one looks much better with the orange ribbon. Don't worry about them "all looking the same" - mine do too!
It's hard to change things when you've just got it worked out. I'm trying to change my cakes but keep going back to the tried and trusted design.
