  • Hi Monk.Tulish :)

For names it was a toss up for me between the one i've got which is Sweet Little Makes and Sweet, neat, inedible treats? That covers you for everything not just nappy cakes X

I quite liked both judt was so difficult as you say all of the names are taken! X
  • Hi monk tulish I have baby believe - baby for all the baby products - and as my two little ones are called Billy and Evie i used their names to create believe. Thought it was a really nice touch but doesn't quite say what I'm selling! Is there anything personal you could use? It's so hard!
I bought a bale of luxury thick white towels in the sale at dare I say it ... Morrisons! They are fab quality it was the last one so I think it was only £4 I got 2 big bath sheets and 2 decent sized hand towels. I bought 2 plain white face cloths to go with it. However I found it harder than I thought I would I've given up at the moment and will come back to it so il be watching for any advice you get! Ive tried rolling them and stacking like a nappy cake but they look so small and all the pics I've seen look like a really good size. I think I will have to make them deep filled is that what everyone else does? Things like bubble bath, bath bombs, those bath puff thingies(!) can't think of anything else!!

Irlrip - crikey! 15 quid thats a lot isn't it I better be careful as I think my prices are pretty reasonable thanks for that. I'm glad you sold them and got the profit you deserved!

Cupcake queen - I've had loads of shops really interested not many florists have caught on yet so strike while the irons hot! Lots have wanted to just put them in their window to "see how it goes" but I really want them to buy them straight from me. Suppose they dont want to be stuck with stock they cant sell. Although I can't be fussy i just keep thinking it's a lot of my stock that I could be selling elsewhere. Did you get your twin order?

Big thanks to Janey for the pm I will reply. Thank you x

Haven't heard back yet but I've found some matching bears - do you think it'd be too pushy to message them with a photo of the bears?! I don't want to be pushy but want to keep them interested.

I'd love to get some in shops, if only I was more confident! I could write I suppose then I wouldn't have to face anyone!

Can any one help me with making sock bouquets, I have not made them yet and would like to have a go. I have looked at florist sites and there are different types of tape and different types of oasis and different types of fabric wraps. I dont want to buy the wrong ones and was wondering what works best for others. I would hate for the tape to ruin the socks and it all fall apart because I have used the wrong oasis. I would really appriciate any advice, Im also desparatly seeking a wholesaler but currently can only find one with a minium order of 175 plus vat for free delivery. It wouldnt be so bad but I would need to order from 4 different ones to get the things I want and I dont have that kind of available funds yet. If I could get it all from one then that would be brilliant.
Looking forward to new ventures

For the tape I use Parafilm. It's not sticky like the other stuff and is more like a plastic. It just clings to itself and is reworkable if you need to start all over which I have to do all the time as I haven't got the knack yet! I bought mine from eBay and you'd probably find everything else you need, possibly even from one seller. There are loads of florist supplies on there and you don't have the problem of minimum orders. I don't know a lot about Oasis but I've seen it in Wilkinsons if that's any help?

    hi girls :)

need some advice please wanting to know if anyone has posted out a hamper before? the box on the hamper is open and will be wrapped in cello etc...what can I do to ensure it arrives in one piece?

    Thanks! X
  • Hi cupcake queen I would def message them like you say, keep them interested! Maybe then (as it is double everything for twins) ask them if they have a budget in mind as you can work to their requirements ;) Regarding the shops, I just make a list of local shops telephone numbers, ask to speak to the manager and then tell them that I have a business opportunity for them and go from there. I have my products and price list handy so I can quickly answer any questions. Go on if it's over the phone you've got nothing to lose but hopefully some money to make!

Zangels I actually struggled a little with my bouquets and after lots of trial and error I chose to use ordinary Sellotape. It causes absolutely no damage to the socks/hats etc and is easily removed. I suppose it depends on how you make them? Some use a blanket to wrap round so stems would prob be better for this design or a cardboard flower box. I put mine in a bucket/pail. The 7 nappies in the bottom keep everything nice and snug so I don't use stems for the baby items. I tuck the little socks (or whatever) in so you can't see the Sellotape and fill any gaps in with leaves/greenery on stems. Its worked so far they feel secure and don't move around especially once all wrapped up in cellophane. Just another idea for you! Good luck when I'm creating a new product it takes me AGES! I try so many different ways and normally use the first! I must waste lots of time!

Thanks for the advice maybe it's just having a go. baby believe I was going to use oasis but nappies sound good. Do you still but the socks on a wire and then put the wire into the gaps in the nappies?
Looking forward to new ventures
