morning everyone
just wondered, where do people buy all their supplies/products? i made my first "cake" lastnight, and was trying to figure out a price. i think i must have spent £25 on everything, so what should i price it as?
i did try to bargain hunt as much as i could :-) but it was difficult! xx0 -
just ordered 2! :-) thanks for the tip hun. it says its suitable for babies and children, so shouldnt be too large. fab! x
These blankets from ikea are really big, 130cmx170cm so over a metre wide and over 1.5 metres long, we use them at home to put on the floor, protects the carpet a bit from any chocolate or anything else the kids spill, I would say they are way too big for a cake and would probably make the bottom tier way too large!
Moonpenny gorgeous cakeRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

samesex, I don't use Nappy Pins - I just buy tiny safety pins for pinning stuff onto cakes.
As for Supplies, you just get into the habit of looking for stuff everywhere you go.
I see things in the shops I would like and wait for Sales or offers before I get them and then buy a few in one go. (Thats how the stock builds up!):eek::eek:
Same with web shopping - only really worth it if you are going to order a few things because of postage. (same again though, wait for 3 for 2's etc)
Where I can, I get them delivered to shop - so no postage!:T
It's not easy if like me you don't drive and have to lug everything on the bus. And my nearest town is a 45 min bus ride away.
Look at all the Supermarkets, Big Stores, Card Shops etc for supplies.0 -
I have perfected my first pink cake, just need to get some cellophane from Ebay and waiting for my pull bows to be delivered. I am really pleased with it. I have also just done a rough pink nappy crib. It needs some work, but the basics are there and I think it will be nice when I have finished it properly. I can't post any pictures at the moment as the computer memory is full and won't let me load anything! Should be getting an external hardrive in the next few days so I will post some pics then.
I got an email from Amazon to say the huge blanket has been dispatched so I will have to assess the situation with that when it comes!0 -

Hsl - Sorry to hear about your situation!! stay strong!
The jars that I think most people use are ones from £land, they come in a
pack of 3 or 4 and are quite obviously £1, if you can't get any in your local store (like me as I have to go to a bigger store) then you can use a more expensive alternative Rajtan spice jar from ikea.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

I ordered a pull bow from Ebay and just tried to make it and don't know if I was just being stupid but I couldn't work it out and it's in a right mess now, no way I can recover it. I was going to order a load wholesale from a website as they work out much cheaper than Ebay but don't want to keep wasting them like this. Any tips??0
