New Nappy Cake
Comments
-
Hi Sam.I have only recently joined this thread and have been reading with great interest and I love seeing everyone's cakes. I too am a stay at home Mum with a 19 month old and a 4 week old. I have made my first cake and will post a picture later. I am thinking about making these and other baby products (when I have the time!!) and selling them at craft fairs. I would love to know how everyone else does at craft fairs. Are they worthwhile?0

Thanks all! for your lovely comments on my cake. (Have changed pic so might be deleted anytime soon)
Lizalloareds - It's not a Towel. It's a hooded Blanket I got online from Matalan a few months ago. They have recently been reduced online but I think they have all gone now.
CandyB101 - I tied the top bit with some curling ribbon to a bottle I had put inside and there are some loops underneath caterpillar that I tied to middle Tier.
If I can't tie things on then I use small Safety pins and try and pin underneath so they can't be seen.
Have put new pic on so you can see tie at top of catterpillar.(other pic has been deleted-added another butterfly.)0 -
moonpenny, your cake is stunning. really really lovely.
where do people buy their nappy/safety pins from by the way?
hi sweetpea :-) aww we are new together then :-)
im umming and arring whether to take the twins and walk into town to buy some supplies now, or not?! hmm! xxx0 -
Yes Moonpenny, your cake is gorgeous. I love the colours. I have got some supplies, but need some more blue stuff for boys cakes as the one I have made is a girl one. I live in a very small town and there are not many shops, not any that would sell what I need anyway! I will have to drive to the next town to get some more supplies but am not allowed to drive for another 2 weeks as had a C section 4 weeks ago ggrrr
, so annoying. Been looking online for supplies but the price of postage sometimes makes things so expensive especially when trying to make a profit!

yes, i agree sweetpea, sometimes postage is ridiculous. do you have anyone who could drive you at the weekend possibly?
x0 -
My OH took me to get a few bits last weekend, and might get him to take me again this weekend. Just ordered a light blue Ikea fleece blanket from Amazon for only £2.50 with free delivery. It looks huge though so don't know if it will be too big! Was thinking I could cut it down into two but don't know whether I will be able to cut straight!0

oooh that sounds like a bargain! i shall have to have a look now....do they still have them?
lol, get yourself a good pair of scissors and youll be fine. or im sure a large blanket will look just as greatm just fold it over so its doubled up. x0 -
Yes, just type in ikea blue fleece and it should come up. Does sound like a bargain doesn't it? It also has good reviews.0
